I like number 3. I like the 10 spoke wheels either way but the darker charcoal makes it look meaner.
|
#4
|
#1 is my favorite. The ten spokes on the lighter color looks elegant, yet says I mean business.
|
I llike both 3 and 4 but I picked #3 ftw. That Malibu would actually look bada$$ with any of those color/wheel combos.
Carter's renderings are awesome. Actually thought it was just a photoshop of a regular picture. Stepping it up a notch. |
I would go with #3
|
I voted #2 - Silver with the 5-spokes.
Any/all are awesome looking though. Brandon |
I went with #4 for you Jody. Personally I like #3. I say 4 only because I know you are wanting it to have an old school look - minus the motor that is!!
Either way it is going to be bad ass!! |

Jody, since you posted this rendering, I've gotta say, I agree with your buddy (Don I presume?)... For me, I really feel like "silvers and grays" have just been "done to death" in recent years. I REALLY like the parchment color (how often do you see that?) and the large D spokes. I like how the tinted windows really "pop" on that thing as opposed to a big mass of gray, and show the roofline...Overall it has a really "crisp" look and feel to it, whereas the grays just are just "subdued" to the point of being...well, boring. I'm also not big on spoked, road / modular look wheels on the early chevelles...Just my $.02, it will surely be a beauty no matter what you choose to do! - Rob |
How about a modern looking 5 spoke such as the Boze Stinger in a satin center it looks like charcoal.
Lexus IS coupe medium grey is killer color. Maybe nickel plate the trim. Car would be killer even in the tan but will appeal to smaller crowd. Then again it is yours. |
I agree with Rob on the silver thing being overdone (to a point... it still is a great color) but the really dark gray/gunmetal/charcoal/whatever you want to call it looks killer and sinister in the dark, yet subdued in the sun - that's what I love about those really dark grays.
I vote #3. I think the modern-looking 10 spokes fit the car with that uber-modern motor under the hood! #3, Jody !!! :D Did Don get the LS motor in his 69 yet? Sell it yet? |
Number 3 all the way. And do something with that grille. You might find that the 45 year old "tin" grille is subconsciously adding to your indecision.
The following grille style on number 3 would seal the deal since it complements both the modern wheels AND your intercooler. Just make an insert. Leave the grille's perimeter alone. Should be an easy experiment for Carter Hickman to perform. Great work Carter. http://www.iimuchfabrication.com/New...20view%203.jpg |
I'm kinda partial to #1 and 3
Why not mix the two up silver top charcoal bottom with the 10 spokes:thumbsup: |
number 2 and 4 and well maybe 3.
Not a big fan of the EURO wheel look. |

I would say #1 if the grille was smoked or blacked out..
but #3 is an obvious winner. |
I like #3 but also like #4. To me the 10 spokes are more modern looking PT and the TT2s have more Bad A%% muscle look. I definitely like they darker color either way.
|
I liked 3 at first glance, but after looking some more, I like the contrast of #1 a little better. 1 it is for me. I know there's some talk of old school, but I would consider losing the door handles. Besides, that's becoming old school now anyway.
|
#3 looks Sweet Jody but to be honest that car would look awesome either color:thumbsup:
|
thanks everyone, it's much appreciated. I'll know what I pick as I'm leaving the paint store.... :P It will be between diamond graphite (Infiniti) and carbon silver (Nissan), both darker than standard silver but not super dark.
Jody |
#3 it has the most modern look IMHO
What ever you do Jody, it's gonna be cool either way. Jan |

This part will drive you crazy!
You should have seen all the 8"x11" paint samples Chris sent me...all blue, just differant shades...thanks for all the sleepless night Chris!! :_paranoid BTW, I like the Infiniti color, it will have a little more depth than the average silver...but on the other hand the 'right' silver looks very clean and classy....you're welcome!! :D |
For God's sake.. #3 won.. just paint the damn car!! :willy:
 Hey, your car would be painted the same color as my intake manifold and Watt's link. lol |
it needs to be the darker color, but the wheel centers need to be lighter.
you can never go wrong with kandy magenta, big flake and 28's:rofl: |
can i vote for #5
stay with the cream color ! everyone has a silver car ( including our camaro) i like the rendering . |
How about RED, I love red. Wait, it already was RED.

How could you pick anything other than #4 wow paint to match those great traditional 5 spokes that look good on everything,
but dont know the theme to your car ether is it modern engine or hot rod . The 10's are nice but only if its a newer theme build! " ls-2" etc but hard to beat the look of a great torque thrust , Just so damn many of them on cars! |
Number 4 is my pick
|
#3 is my pic
|
3 and 4 are my favorites. It is interesting how the Chevelle site voted quite differently than this one did, they seem to like the 5 spokes over the modern wheels:
View Poll Results: which do you like? silver with 10 spokes 11.39% silver with 5 spoke Vintage wheels 17.72% dark silver/charcoal with 10 spokes 30.38% dark silver/charcoal with 5 spoke Vintage wheels 40.51% Now to pick the exact shade of silver/gray............ :willy: Jody |

Certain wheels go better with certain body styles. Awesome car even with training wheels.
|
#3
Tint the windows and maybe powdercoat or satin the chrome trim....badass.... The lighter silver....been done to death.... |
