What did the panel cost from FPM?

I know it is easy enough to do engine turn, but to do a 1/2 inch pattern straight then cut the panel to fit the gauge cluster as perfect as they did is another.

It cost 275 to have them do it, I sent them the cluster with a template to guide them. I had to do some serious trial and error to get that template to fit just right. I think I could to engine turn, but it wouldn't turn out dead nuts perfect.

I will also be adding more pics of the motor and the build of it. I will also post pics as soon as I accomplish more on the car.

That Goat should fly.... and sound great doing it

Pontiac65 Always install a xe cam ""straight up"" due to the A simetrical lope disighn the xe cam reacts 5 degrees smaller in the low rpm and 5 degree,s larger in the high rpm. im no engine builder , but Mr -pbody aka CVMS one of the wel known pontiac engine gooroos ou there loves this xe cam series and did my engine as wel. he wrote a piece on the shortblock part in J hands book . got a 461 stroker with the xe 284 with 550 hp! and 580 lbs Torque

COYBILT 12-17-2007 11:50 AM

I think the motor will be fine, to be quite honest. The motor wasnt just built by me, I also had a older friend who has been building race motors for years guide me.

COYBILT 04-15-2008 11:35 PM

I will put progress pics up soon we have been battling this car for a while now.
It is SEMA bound and I just know its going to turn into a thrash to the end.
OH ,
Yeah I would want you to have too many ideas.

HRBS 04-16-2008 12:48 PM

Joe... Stop fiddling with sketches, pause the "Dukes of Hazzard" DVD (inside joke) and get to work !
That thing is lookin good !

Ummgawa 04-16-2008 06:57 PM

Dude, That is frackin' schweet!!

COYBILT 04-16-2008 08:58 PM

I just did the renderings so manufactures could get a idea what there dealing with.
I also have been busy with my New old Gmc truck my dad handed down to me. (Lq9 swap, dyna tech long tubes, comp custom grind cam, Stock bed, new tires,etc....) Its a 2000 sierra 2500HD that is in great overall shape just going through it.

Now to the GTO, we are redoing the following: trunk floor, wheel tubs, firewall, drivers side floor, build bumper brackets, hard lines, AC system mounting, custom sheetmetal inner fenders, and just a lot of **** to get it to paint and interior.
I Still haven't even opened that DVD

HRBS 04-17-2008 05:37 AM

AC ?????
In a Vert ?
Is that so your hair wont blow while your cruising down the blvd ? LOL

This thing looks like it'll be real nice. Cant wait to see it this year.
Pat was at the shop on Tuesday asking about you.
I told him you are building some top secret spacecraft and wont reveal any details.
Keep up the good work...

That is true the damn car is top secret classified to the public. I could PM you real photos if you would like.

Im just messing around I just dont want any builder to copy the car till its done. I dont want Bill Howell getting any crazy idea's and trying to copy this thing.
JK bill

Oh shoot me your number so I can bug you while your working.

COYBILT 04-17-2008 11:20 PM

I almost forgot to mention, but Gordinis garage of Fremont,ca is doing the metal fab on this car. Gordon is redoing the trunk floor, wheel tubs, firewall, drivers side floor, and random bits of sheetmetal here and there. I just realized that the sheetmetal fab skills I employed, were not up to SEMA quality. I'm a much better mechanical/machinist type guy. I will have updates of the trunk floor install with tubs, etc.

ok here is the final rendering and this isnt the high def rendering by any means.
I will have pictures of the build up soon showing where were at.
The car is SEMA bound for 2008 and Im really looking forward to it.

Lessk 05-20-2008 08:31 PM

Very nicely styled!

Lenie 05-20-2008 09:36 PM

My first car was a 64 GTO, and the goats are still my favorite cars. Love that rendering.

Hey, guys I got some pics of parts.
We made these parts at my buddys machine shop here in nor cal.
We made the lower bezels on the dash and AC vent lower housing.

I still need to cut out engine turn metal inserts, for the inside of the bezels.

COYBILT 05-28-2008 02:53 PM

stay tuned I will have a ton of pics in the next couple days.

PT Goat 05-29-2008 06:16 AM

Those parts look great - I bet you could sell a ton of them. I had to part out a pretty nice '65 to get those AC vent ball parts. And adapting them to the Vintage Air ducts was a hassle. Looks like you found a nice solution.

waynieZ 05-29-2008 05:00 PM

Nice work it will look good!
Wayne

COYBILT 05-30-2008 01:24 PM

I might start selling these billet parts just not in huge runs.

gearheads78 05-30-2008 03:59 PM

I love this build :hail: :hail:

COYBILT 06-08-2008 09:40 PM

OK update on the car.

Today, I went ahead and talked with Darrell Hollenbeck of vintage color studio
about paint on the car. Well it is looking like august we will be going to paint with the car and turn around should be start of September.
If any of you are wondering who Darrell is, He paints cars for Roy Brizios roadster shop in south San Francisco and Im looking forward to the candy apple red color.

We have been busy on the car and hard at work to make sure the photos I will post soon, give you a great Idea of whats going on.

The Wheels wells look great, No more bondo bucket hack jobs back there.
The firewall well its still in progress and will be finished soon.

Give it a week and you will soon see photos.
I know I have been pretty bad about posting updates, but I'm worrying about making SEMA 2008.

ONE off 20x12 E/T classic 5 wheels and 18x8 fronts :woot:

Wrapped in Michelin Pilot sports
335/30/20 back and 245/40/18 fronts

I hope this may boost interest in these wheels.
Scott is now selling these rims, for a hell of a lot cheaper due to me.
I paid all the prototype cost to produce the 20 inch center.

I like these wheels quite a bit, I guess im stuck in the 60's

GMracer 10-02-2008 05:15 AM

nice set of wheels! size looks perfect

syborg tt 10-02-2008 07:31 AM

car is looking good - keep up the updates

frankenstang 10-03-2008 04:40 PM

I noticed the bump outs in the trunk floor. Can we coin a term? The 'Schwartz bumps' ? It'll identify a narrowed rear frame rail anywhere. Car is looking good. Good luck at SEMA.

tgvettes 10-03-2008 04:52 PM

I love the wheels, just what I want for my 68 Camaro
Who is the Scott guy that makes them?

Tonny

V8TV 10-03-2008 06:08 PM

I love the wheels! They look awesome. We need more info on where to get 'em!

The car is really coming together well. Can't wait to see it in person! Keep it up!

COYBILT 10-04-2008 04:21 PM

If you guys want those wheels
Give Scott a Call at E/T wheels
I am the first guy with 20 inch E/T's
He has the pattern to make the wheels now, so it should just be a matter of back spacing.
So i paid the price now you guys get to reap the rewards.

jeff s 11-16-2008 04:28 PM
