I am also a lurker. I visit several times a week to read and learn. I had a 69 BB 4-speed years ago that I sold. Yes I know, it was one of the biggest mistakes I have made. It was a driver that needed alot of rust repair. I sold it for $8,000. and today I can not believe what they are going for. I have two kids and a wife and they tend to take up all the time and money. So I come here and dream of the camaro that I WILL SOMEDAY build. It will be a pro-touring car that I will drive the wheels off of.

Stick with your Dream! I had to wait 26 years, and I now have another one and I couldn't be happier. Enjoy your kids while you have them at the house, then go get you, "Another Baby". Once you get it, You'll probably be surprised how kids can be a real financial bargain at times. ;-) Hang in there. Good Luck, Ty |
I've been lurking around for a while now.
Here is a rendering from Kris Horton of my 65 Buick Skylark I am working on. Slow project because I try to do everything possible myself. Will be modifying the stock frame with C4 vette front suspension and steering, and a custom 3 link in the rear. motor will be a Gen 1 SBC 383 ultimately with turbo(s). trans will be a LT1 T56 and a 9"rear. http://www.hostingmojo.com/phild/ima...mp_desktop.JPG |
Wow - that is beautiful ! You and Kris scoped out an awesome project - just love those colors. What is the body color ? Nice ride !!

I haven't really done much lurking here to be honest but I have done my share over at the pro-touring site. I just introduced myself and my '65 Stang in the new member section here. I lurk on a few forums simply because I like seeing everyone's various projects progress, yet don't really feel the need to add my 2 cents to every thread. Not to mention my own car was done years and years ago and the work I do for other people doesn't really fit the G-machine build style so the stuff I'm usually working on isn't really relevant here.
I love the pro-touring style builds but most of my friends are drag racers. Any of you guys seen the PINKS ALL OUT episode in Budds Creek, MD.???? I'm the guy who painted the Blue S-10 that won it. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...y/shawn102.jpg Here's the last big project I completed out of my home shop. Again not exactly a G-Machine nor my cup of tea but I like to help out my friends when I can. http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...y/jerry207.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...y/jerry196.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...y/jerry236.jpg More of the same...... http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c2...erby/turd4.jpg See not really G-Machine type stuff... |
I come here daily, I love all the pro-tourers on the site. We dont see many pro-tourers in Australia.
I probably don't post as my current project is not a pro-tourer. It's a 1971 Ford Falcon that is probably best described as a mild restomod. It has a mild 351 cleveland, T5 and disc brake 9 inch. However, I've already got the body for my future pro-tourer project. Its a 1976 Ford Falcon coupe. Plans for this include 5.4 mod motor, T56, Mustang 2 style front suspension and AU XR6 IRS rear end (simmilar to 03 Cobra-R IRS). I'm a high school metalwork and mechanical workshop teacher, and the body is at my work as sort of a class project. We are cutting rust out and welding in new panels. This is how it looked when I got it. (Sorry about the big pictures, I dont know how to scale them down.) http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...y/PICT0535.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...y/PICT0532.jpg And here's a picture of a simmilar Falcon coupe in good condition http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...y/IMG_0605.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...y/IMG_0608.jpg |
