Looking killer Rob! I need to visit the shop again...lots of good stuff going on!!
|
Looking good. Good to have safety loops on the car Ive seen many break at the track.
So is that a sample piece of the carpet you chose for your interior? LOL |

 you like it? |
Looks good Rob
|
That carpet is special...
And yes, the 4l65 is as big as it looks in the pictures. The pan protrudes into the floor area. Really too bad Rob didn't go for the T56... :unibrow:  |

If it isn't for TJ then its for Tim cause old guys need to take a nap once during the day to recharge the old batteries. LOL |
Sweet project. Quick question for you Dodge guys. I saw a Duster for sale locally that I could pick up kind of cheap. Was wondering what kind of tire you can fit under one without a mini tub job. Anybody know?

Duster/Demons have bigger rear tubs than Dart's.......I dont know specifically know the size but on Bigblockdart a search could easily find out. |

Tunnel is finished.....
Pushed the car outside for a bit. Gotta get the wheels painted...way too blingy for me. Rear suspension is done now, Tim just finished a rear splined sway bar....will get pics soon. |
so whats next on the list?

Once the bellhousing gets here, a bunch of little stuff to finish up. Then exhaust and modify the rear roll cage bars. :) |

Check out www.forabodiesonly.com The guys there aren't really into heavily modified Abodies like mine, but would know for sure on the rear wheel question. Thanks for the compliment |

Thought I'd update a bit.....
The first pic is before the cage was re-done Tim re-built the cage......less "pro-street" more passenger friendly. Installed a splined rear sway bar. Rear suspension finally done, triangulated 4 link, backbraced 8 3/4, and rear bar. Gotta get the right coilovers now......any suggestions? 90%street/10% track |

In the mock up pics with the Centerline rims up front, what wheels are on the back? I'm really liking the look of those a lot...

Bruning Auto Design is a dealer for them. They only come in 19"+ |
Looks awesome Rob. I love the cage...... now I''m back to thinking of having them do my cage now, rather than later....thanks..

Rob, it looks awesome...I need to get over there!! When will it leave for paint? What's left to do fab wise? |
Quote:
Looks like the Cuda is at that point....easier now, rather than later. |

It will come home for paint.....my brother is a painter. Just waiting on Quicktime for a bellhousing, then all the stainless hardlines can get done...hopefully in a couple weeks, not holding my breath on Qucktime. I got plans for a spoiler (thanks Ned), some bumper/valance work, exhaust, custom door handles and a few other things......so paint is a while off unfortunately. Parking it next to the Etiket Challenger has rubbed off on it..... |

I bought an adapter already and it was wrong, .......I could have another one made for $1000. |
Its gonna be near impossible for me to take the car back up there for more work down the line...so when/if I do a cage, I will probably have to do it locally.
Tim would do an awesome job I'm sure....but right now I have other priorities for the $$. Plus ideally I'd like to have my seats finalized and some other stuff in the interior all figured out before I do a cage... that way I can make sure the cage fits with the interior rather than the opposite. Its got pros/cons with either approach I've even considered not doing a cage to keep the interior more simple and clean....but I want a 4 or 5 point harness so.....it will likely happen sooner or later. We'll see...... |

Few updated pics...
Finally got the bellhousing.....trans crossmember with exhaust custouts, stainelss hardlines, headers welded up, starter mocked up etc.... |
|
Very nice :) I love all the hard line........
Whats the story on the headers? I thought you did the S&P ones.... just cleaned them up and rewelded ? Any the end pieces for the lower control arms ? I want some :) And the bulhead for the lines coming from the firewall.... I want details  Love the dash too..did Tim build that entire thing? Very nice.. Details please...... |
Quote:
Rob's alterKation kit is an earlier version than yours and had one long 5/8" bolt, washers, and nylock nut that attached the lower control arms to the k member. Tim machined a shaft and end caps with countersunk fasteners. Looks much cleaner than before IMO. The factory 6.1 HEMI heater tubes are plumbed into the firewall behind the intake. Tim plumbed the other two A/C lines with stainless hard line to the compressor and condensor/drier (minus a couple short sections off the compressor). Rob will probably chime in on the dash insert, but he bought it from a company that is no longer in business if memory serves... |
