That is beautiful!!! Good luck keeping the underside clean... Nice work.

Dropped in this morning as I had to drive straight past on the way home from the office.
Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics as I wasn't expecting to be down that way today so didn't have my proper camera. Inside all painted now. They primed and blocked the primer 4 times to get it baby smooth before painting. Painting it was hard, had to roll it in the rotisserie on it's side and stand between the console and the firewall Again interior lights don't show the pearl, but damn it's shiny...and it hasn't even been cleared and wet sanded and cleared again yet http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/IMG_1662.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/IMG_1663.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/IMG_1664.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/IMG_1665.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/IMG_1666.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/IMG_1667.jpg |
Dash and centre console now in paint...
Re-assembly started will be on wheels later today. Being fully assembled so all the panels can be gapped with full car weight in place http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10620.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10619.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10618.jpg Look through the rear speaker hole on the rear parcel shelf, you can see the pearl in the paint http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10617.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10616.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10615.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10614.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10613.jpg |

Can also only legally go weld in 6 point Our modifications laws here suck, new laws they want to bring in are: 1. No lowering or rising more than between 10mm to 50mm 2. No wider or larger rims 3. and way more.... we are a nanny state !!! |
Latest pics - damn I get a woody looking at these
It will be fully painted this time next week http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10664.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10663.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10662.jpg same pics but with camera flash "on" http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10661.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10665.jpg Short 42 sec video. Sorry for the shakiness, I have a natural shake I have had all my life, and it gets worse when I am in a hurry as I was today (dropped in on way to a meeting) http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t.../th_Video5.jpg |
Looking good man. That yellow looks good.

Went down to the shop today....no paint (yet)
So more teaser shots.... Problem with perfectionists....they decided to reblock the whole car again, aiming for paint now early next week... None the less did get some photos First lot the ghost flames, they mocked up 6 3 panels 2 lots of flames per panel, I only have photos of one panel the 2 panels I did not get shots of had a gold and magenta pearl, and a blue and a green pearl flicked into the flames The 1 panel that I did get a photo of (seen below in 2 different angles) was using just more of the same pearl that is being paid n the car anyway, just more coats. 1 of 5 extra coats and the other of 10 extra coats In this fist pics the flames at the top are 5 extra coats, at the bottom 10 extra http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10690.jpg in this second pic the one on the right hand side is 5 coats, left hand side 10 extra http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10691.jpg I'm going with the 5 extra coats. Nice and subtle and Love how it changes colour with the change of angle, it's either red, green or yellow flames The other pics are just as the car stands while they block it... Thought some might like to see it with the 4" cowl it will be registered with. The shop trying to talk me into staying with the 4" cowl...but no way, it comes off when the plates go on.... I seriously love the look of these rear treads damn I love the deep dish of these Rushforth's.... http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10692.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10694.jpg |
The ghost flames look good.
|
I don't mean to be rude, and it's your car, but that's way too much yellow IMHO , it just looks like you got a 55 gallon drum of yellow paint dirt cheap or free and went to town with it.And I'd advise not to go with any flames, makes the car even more tacky.
The fab work looks great, and that motor is a monster:thumbsup: |

Well she finally has paint !!!!
painted yesterday in the oven overnight. Cloudy here today which sucks, but managed to wheel it out into the sun during a break in the clouds. This has NOT been rubbed back yet, this is as it has come off the gun, so it will be much shinier.. These photos do not do the pearl justice, the reds and greens are hard to see. Greens tend to come out more, but the reds are there also just harder to see Video at the bottom is better to show it off, but again not as good as seeing it in the flesh. I have to say I am super happy with this, looks fricken awesome, just the colour I was after... Oh yeah and in the sun, damn it's bright !!!! http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10700.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10695.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10696.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10697.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10698.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10699.jpg I have a 1 min video that I have tried all day to load up to Youtube and/or Photobucket but keeps failing to load up...not sure why yet, but will try again later to get it up...so just stills for now. The video is way way better |

Finally back in the country after being away for a while with work...
But good news is some meaningful updates. Car was finished today at the trimmers. Inline with the smooth theme of the car everything leather wrapped with no screws or studs. Rear seat over the tubs, double stitching to accent and a bit more bolstering than the original seat came out with. 3 point inertia reel belts (all brand spanking new out of a VE commodore) built into rear seats. Love the door trim, if only I could have also had no door handle.... http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10861.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10857.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10854.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10853.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10849.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10846.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10844.jpg Short 1.25 min video (as gives a better overall view of the interior) And just a random pic that really blew me away with the pearl showing through...have I said how much I love this paint !!! http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10850.jpg We aren't far away now, my accelerator foot is getting itchy :D:D |
Looks good. Won't be long now!
|
OK a couple of major milestones...we are moving rapidly to rego.
First up, car was fired up last week for the first time. I was overseas so wasn't here for it, but popped in today and had em fire it up for me. 30 sec video of BBC awesomeness here (turn it up loud): She won't sit this low when done (as much as I would love it to), at this height the front is about 1 inch from the ground). Looks fricken awesome !!!! http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10867.jpg Also all glass is now in (pics) http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10863.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10864.jpg cowl panel needs a bit of adjustment http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10868.jpg Bumpers and grille in. Note the bumpers are smoothed and tucked way way into the body. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10869.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10870.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/SDC10871.jpg And finally just a video of the car, note the plug leads will be tidied up and run under the exhaust, just put in loosely for now. |
Looks good. Getting close now.
|
1st decent drive today on trade plates...drove about 10 Ks
Getting ready for engineer tomorrow One thing I have to say is that these brakes rock !!! Holy Sh1t it stops... Drives way better with 17x12 drag radials than the 18x9 with street tyres on it...the 18x9's just want to get sideways every time I breathe on it.... think I'm happy ??? |
Very nice. Congrats on the first drive. She sounds good.
|
You sure that's a 632 your running? In the video, you passed right by a gas station!  Very nice build, congratulations.
|
Great progress. It looks great.
|
It's officially NO longer a "project". Sailed through Vicroads this morning, we are now FULLY registered !!!!!!!
Fan-farking-tastic !!! Now getting it road ready again, maiden voyage on Thu |
Congrats! I'm in Melb for Christmas, hopefully I'll see it out on the road! Enjoy
|
Well it's finally home.
It left the shop Christmas eve. Here is a short video of me driving it out... I have a small number of things to complete. The tunnel ram and twin carbs need to be installed (and new bonnet) had to wait till post rego. Also need to get the front down a bit but collectors too close to ground so may need to do something there. Now time to hit the road for some summer fun |
Very nice. Looks and sounds awesome.
Enjoy. |
Car looks pure bad a** Chris. Nice job!
|
nice, looks really good

Please, could you tell me the 0-60mph times you run on the STREET with the streettires?
I am not familar with quartermile times. I am building a TT540 in an 68 Impala with 20" is Rims in the rear. Around 1000hp on low boost is what I am after. I go with a Jake´s Rod Shop full perimeter frame and due to this frame I am able to get any width of tires the rear of the car but everybody things I will have only problems wenn accelerating. I go with an all aluminum BBC that is moved as far back to the firewall as possible, with a rear mounted radiator, a fiberglass hood, and a very good rear end suspension with shockwaves instead of coilovers to get a softer ride for better weight transfer. Everything heavy like battery, soundsystem and so on will go in the cars back. You see I will do anything that is possible to get forward bite. The car will have 1700 - 1800 kg, what 0-60mph times will I see for your opinion? Thanks Hannes |
Quote:
My car weighs 1660 Kg with a full tank and me in it |
Wow, that is really a low weight
I look forward to hear about your experience with the bug sucker. I hope I can run big power since it has been said more then 600HP is not possible in a street car (I really dont hope so....) |
Exactly the look I want. What was the final wheel and tire sizes front and back? I'm loving that look man. I just picked up a 67 last week and have been searching trying to find the look and you nailed it.
