Looks great ! Are you going to remove the front wheel well trim ?

Spiffav8 11-16-2008 06:17 PM

Looking good! The new wheels rock!

When do you think you'll have it done?

JETSET700 11-16-2008 07:17 PM

I'm not sure on the trim. I have all four pieces NOS.

Thanks Curtis, a family friend helped start Fikse. I've always wanted to run their wheels.
I'm hoping to start it in JAN

You have a beautiful car . I love those Fikse wheels, and mounted on a black car makes them sparkle even more . Nice work.

Thanks Wayne, I've had the car 24 years & its never looked
anything like this before. I've done all the planing alot of the work
but had great help on the body & paint, Quadralink install, exhaust.

In the pics of wheels I'm just ckecking initial ride height. Thats the
first time it had weight on wheels with correct size. Not all of the
weight is in it yet so I will leave the front for now & of course the
rear is fully adjustable.

Looking great Peter. Can't wait for the finished product! Nice choice on wheels.

Update Pics

5 Attachment(s)
Here are pics of latest work. I removed the Qlink, exhaust, masked the
allready painted car (PITA) then preped & sprayed DP90 on the new steel.
It has DSE subframe connectors, Quadrlink, & tubs now. At home its hard
to get the car high enough to spray bottom also the front side of the
upper shock crossmember is hard to get to.

Then seam sealer urethane superpro, another coat of DP, undercoating
on wheel wells, frame rails, shock crossmember, trunk spatter to match
what was allready there.

Progress

Next I will Dynamat the firewall & floor etc. I can make some real progress now! Hope to start it in JAN.

Peter

Nicely done! Thanks for the update!

Great looking car. I like what still looks like the 327 emblem on the fender.......

tones2SS 12-14-2008 10:12 AM

That is looking awesome!!!

JETSET700 12-14-2008 10:21 AM

Thanks charlie, I like the emblems on look. If everyone cleaned their car up
they would all look the same. Same with bumpers & chrome.

JETSET700 12-14-2008 10:36 AM

Wheel opening trim is not going on.

Progress

Well JAN passed & it's not run yet! It's hard to make alot of progress right now. I'm finishing fuel lines, trunk wiring, fabbing SS brake lines for the rear axle & the Hydraboost/Wilwood master/prop valve.

Any advice on a proven tank vent system? I have a Rick's with A1000 pump.
Hopefully no gas odor.

Peter

On my project we actually installed a s10 charcoal can. We've done it on several cars and no gas odor.

What's new on this bad boy?

Spiffav8 07-28-2009 09:48 AM

Yeah Peter...what's new?

Might be passing through in Sept. and would love to stop in and see the car. I suppose it would be nice to meet you too.

Thanks to all for the posts. In late spring I started installing a racepack dash
setup, the dash insert is nearly done. We have been way too busy with other stuff & as it cools down I will be on the gas to get this thing done.

I prefer the non-RS look on 67's and IMO you don't see a lot of them.

Not like this anyways...
