Scott,

Did he mention how the steering shaft fit up with those pipes? I had Dan Lemons build me a set for my 540 4-speed ragtop, that guy can build pipes, absolutly beautiful work. I wonder what they cost, perhaps a call to Dan for more info on them.

Thanks Rich

Just a question about the silicon bronze. I've seen this used before and have done a little research. Are you just using this on the parts that you don't deem structural? It sure makes pretty looking welds. I thought I had read somewhere that it makes a weaker weld and shouldn't be used on structural joints.

I'm just curious - trying to learn.

I like the clearance modifications for the exhaust. You can tell that you've been down that road before with a Camaro. It's always nice to have those previous experiences to draw on.

Correct. Non structural- sheetmetal. Like you would not want to use it for welding the subframe to the subframe conectors or welding together a roll cage

Progress! :woot: Looks great Kurt!!

The Lemons headers fit great - even with the 2" primaries.

One side had a little rust around the wheel opening but the other side had a crease/dent from someone running into it I would guess. When the owner purchased the car it came with one NOS quarter and I was able to locate another for the other side

I'm running a little behind, I started another 69 camaro and were doing a complete paint on a 68 camaro, and a full alterktion kit on a 69 superbee so I probably wont be getting to it anytime soon. I still have a ton of stuff to do on the cuda, winters sure are busy!!!!

I found this at lemons web site :

" Spark plug wiring:
For all of our Big Block and LS headers we recommend a 45 degree wiring boot and for all of our Small Block headers we recommend a 90 degree wiring boot."

But based on pictures it look like the stock boots would clear ? Can you double check this for me ? If they work i place my order right in.

I just took another look and its a straight shot. Looks like a straight boot would have plenty of clearance to me

Black!! Love it...

Kurt, Scott told me your attention to detail is top shelf and it shows...:hail:

That crease happened to the original owner, a driver was not paying attention and tapped him on the backside.

Kendall Burleson 01-12-2009 12:09 PM

How much body work will you have to do?
