We don't ever weld bodies to frames. Not that there is anything wrong with that at all, but it's just not how do it with any uni-body cars we build. Here's a pic of the body mount spacer on a different Mustang. http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/DSC05522.jpg The washers are there for setup, then we make a nice set of poly bushings. The mount there is on the x-member, but we have them all over the chassis. |

Good god, we aren't buying it. The talent pool of Lateral-G would be humbled by Trepanier, Foose, and the like. Stop pretending you are on or above their level. Tyler |
Foose and Trepanier! This is comedy!

Little bit of an update.
With the hiatus over, we are back to schedule on this project;although this one will unveil at SEMA rather than GG Columbus. We opted to take the other Mustang project to compete and leave this one for next year. A lot of the big work is done and here is just a few quick snapshots of the roof being chopped. The windshield was laid back 3/4" and the rear sction was chopped 3/4". Very subtle, but it looks great. As soon as it is in a better location I'll take a few profile shots. http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_0419.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_0427.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_0426.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_0424.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_0422.jpg |
http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_0432.jpg
http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_0458.jpg here's a comparison of the rear "window" section. http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_0457.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/IMG_0456.jpg |
Thanks for the update.
You lads are quite crafty! |
Roll cage is in as of this week.
We opted to do a bolt in (sort of) so the body could be removed for final finish on the chassis. There are plates welded to the frame, and to the body that will bolt together. The door bars are not in and complete yet, but the rest is. http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/DSC07197.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/DSC07195.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/DSC07191.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/DSC07189.jpg |
Got the wheels and tires in place too...
The tires are being replaced for a different profile though. http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/DSC07202.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...g/DSC07203.jpg |

customer wants to do alot more mods on the car and he is doing some changes on the engine. We will have some updated pictures of this car in a few weeks. For columbus this year we do have the other 65 mustang we were building that has been shown on this site the car did not make the top 5 for street machine and this car was being built for our client who wanted to have a car he could drive around in and have fun in.This client has a other car we have been building for last two years that will be competing for the ridler award in feb 2010 in detroit. There were alot of nice cars here in columbus and the roadster shops vette was very sharp and all of the rest of the cars that were in the running were nice as well. For anybody who is in columbus this week stop by our booth and say hello we are behind Mothers polishing and if you have a chance stop by mothers and you can see our 32 roadster we built that won americas most beutiful roadster and I know it is not a street machine but you can see a sample of some of are other work. Thankyou, Justin Scotts Hotrods |
Great looking build. Keep the updates coming
