So I got my car on the ground, installed the G link suspension I got from Frank @ Prodigy Customs. Wasn't to bad to install at all. I had a currie 9 " built. Now on wheels not sure what size to run yet. I will be using Budnik Triggers.

Finally got some pics uploaded.

I have sprayed the bottom with Liner, painted my housing, mocked up my rear brakes, started on door gaps.

Should have it to the body shop hopefully next month.

Going back to 18" wheels not sure what design yet.

Ron in SoCal 01-26-2011 10:58 AM

Car and gaps look great Jay....

What made you decide to go back to 18's?

I didn't want such a tall tire. I also wanna drive the hell out of the car, so I i figured it would ride a lot nicer with 18's on all 4's.

Well its been some time since I have posted.

Finally found someone to do the rest of the body prep and paint work for a really good deal. I will post progress pictures in the next few weeks. The shop is right next door to ours. It's nice to have the car walking distance so I can check it out every so often. The color I think I am going with is Matador Red Mica from the new Lexus color chart.

Ron in SoCal 04-19-2011 12:55 PM

Good choice! That color will POP...

Swain 04-19-2011 01:33 PM

Thanks..

Thinking of doing brushed rims with gray centers. Should look good.

The WidowMaker 04-19-2011 06:16 PM

Awesome!!! Keep us updated on paint.

what kind of red is the lexus? metallic, bright etc?

Ron in SoCal 04-19-2011 11:25 PM

Tim the color is so cool. To me, Lexus has a lot of great colors and I'm surprised more PT cars don't take a hard look at them:

Cool color Jay! I think it is a 3 stage metallic or pearlescent paint with mica rock in it instead of powdered metal. Reflects AND refracts light unlike other metallics. Very glittery with cool illumination changes. It's a nice, deep red. BTW, love the build

Some updates... Gap work, Welding the lower fender to the top. Shave the side marker lights. 18" One off wheel we just did that will weigh about 20 lbs after pockets machined in.

He has only seen a little of the car. He will have too many different ideas for the car lol better to have it done then show it. Plan on autocrossing it and taking it to all the shows. Trying to get him to finally get workin on his 55. Told him he needs a chassis from Rodger "Ironworks". He cannot make his mide up but I said you can't go wrong with that stuff up in bakersfield Baby.

Threw one of my wheel centers in a old Rim Outer to see how its going to look.

The center will be Ceramic Coated Gray with a Brushed Rim.

18x8 weighed 20.2lbs not bad

We changed the profile on the area, cut some weight.

settintrendz 01-06-2012 02:59 PM
