Yep Im hooked on Bass, lol. My fishing has made this project longer then it needs to be. I have a baby girl due in Aug. With that coming Im going to sell the boat and put the 20k into the car. I figure with the car in the garage Ill be close to home to look after the baby. Should work out well.
So the car is going to be getting a lot of love! Ive bought all the big stuff needed. Im sure Ill find a way to make that 20k go away, lol:lol:

camaro2nv 05-20-2009 06:45 PM

Oh BTW Frank got me a good price on the Morrison rear clip. As soon as I get home Ill measure my axle length and get my order in. Looks like a task to install it. But at least I can look forward to having a roller and do some bodywork! Heres a pic of the Morrison

I am hooked on Bass too. Out on my buddies 21ft Ranger every time he calls.
That rear set up is nice. Almost ready to roll around!
I imagine another 20k could get swallowed up easy if you hang around this site too much.
Congrats on the new addition to the family! Roseville is nice, good place to raise 'em.

camaro2nv 05-25-2009 02:34 PM

I cut the lip off the wheel wells today. I left 1/4 inch of lip. Im going to weld in a piece of round bar to finish it up.
I placed the rear wheels under the car so I could get a measurement for my rear end. Its 54 1/2 to the center of each pad. Tomorrow I call and order my Morrison rear end! Woo hoo

Well got the call today. The shipping company called and said my "car frame" was ready for pickup. I ran down to the yard and they loaded it up. This baby is nice! Morrison did a heck of a job! A second shipment should follow soon. It will have the axles and gears.

awr68 07-09-2009 08:44 PM

NICE!! :woot:

Rybar 07-10-2009 04:00 PM

Those wheels and mock-up stance look great. So does the AM rear frame.

camaro2nv 07-10-2009 11:10 PM

Thanks guys! I got started tonight. I started drilling out the spot welds on the rear frame rails. I got 95% of them drilled out. Man what a pain in the arse! I think the spot weld guy at the factory went nuts on my car, lol. I should have the Morrison in by next week. I hope! Frank, wheres those gears and axles, lol

Ok I got the rear frame rails out. They didnt go without a fight! I did notice a few rusted out holes in the rear floor pan. I think Ill just replace it before I put the Morrison in.

It is amazing looking at the factory vs Morrison rails side by side. Just thinking about the abuse the factory rails put up with in our cars, how did they even hold up?

If you send me your e mail in a PM I will forward the fish pics from Friday nights trip. Got a few nice ones!

She should handle WAY better now!

70rs 07-14-2009 03:39 PM

It is such a difference that now I have to reconsider what I am doing to the back of my car. Geez! Thanks for buying such cool parts, now it's going to cost even more to build mine!

GregWeld 07-14-2009 04:28 PM

Glad you like the Forgiatos!! Here they are on my M5 !! Too funny!!

Rob -- You just can't have too much truck!!

My truck problem is that it doesn't get driven 'enough'... Most of it's milage is hiway hauling Calfornia and Az and back to the Pacific NorthWET.

Tell you what though -- It has the full Gale Banks 6 gun BIG HOSS bundle -- GPS -- Killer stereo - 500 watt CB -- and Radar detector -- and it can HAUL...

EEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

But my tailgate is whimpy...

camaro2nv 07-14-2009 08:41 PM

Good taste! I love the wheels. Nice thing about Forgiato's is they offer them in sooo many different ways.

BIG thanks to Frank! He did a lot of ground work for me today. He also gave me a heck of a deal on my order today.

camaro2nv 07-19-2009 02:54 PM

Sunday afternoon, time to put some work in. Boy this Morrison rear clip fits like a glove. It fit so tight I dont know how measurements could be off. I still have to weld it in but I got it in place for now.
Raise the rear first to get it in place.

Little bit from the front and rear jacks now

These are the only two holes you need to drill on each side. That way you can get to the nut
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...v/DSC_0202.jpg
Thats it for now. Later on when it cools off in the garage Ill tack it in pace and put the rear axle in place. 105 outside is just too hot, I bet the garage is 120.

70rs 07-19-2009 03:08 PM

VERY NICE!! I just saw the parts list you ordered too. Sweet! That is a good day of shopping! Was it all one call to Frank? The front drive and radiator are awesome, as well as the brake system and trans packages. The car is going to be killer when done! Keep the pics and info coming please. I'm subscribed.

tones2SS 07-19-2009 04:06 PM

Sweet looking system..

Steve1968LS2 07-20-2009 03:26 PM

Nice build...

Make sure you get the Magnum with the 2.66 first gear and .64 6th gear.. it's the best option and it's what I'm running. You will love the Magnum.

camaro2nv 07-20-2009 04:02 PM

Thanks Steve, I just called and Im all good! Thanks for the help.

camaro2nv 07-20-2009 06:02 PM

Spectra fuel tank just came in! What a deal, 480.00 with the pump!
Man I love Craigslist, I found a Speedtech Sub frame. After spending 22k in parts this month it wasnt in my budget right now. But a deal is a deal and I need all the help I can get. Time to dip into the savings. I put a deposit on it and this weekend Ill make the four hour trip.
Looks like Ill have a roller soon!!!!! :lateral:

GregWeld 07-20-2009 06:16 PM

Hey!! Money's no good if you don't spend it... LOL

I mean - that's why you get up and go to work - to earn money - you earn money so that you have some to spend! So you're just doing what you're supposed to do! Right?

My wife only follows this logic if she's at Nordstrom. It doesn't apply to car parts.

70rs 07-20-2009 10:31 PM

Yeah! Why is it ok at Nordys but not at Summit??

awr68 07-20-2009 10:46 PM

Congrats on the ST frame....and all the other killer parts as well! Can't wait to see it as a roller!!

70rs 07-20-2009 11:33 PM

What vendor did you get the Spectra tank from? That is a killer price and I wouldn't mind picking one up myself.

camaro2nv 07-21-2009 09:18 PM

Heres a link for the tank

http://www.rockauto.com/
Best thing to do is call them.

70rs 07-21-2009 09:19 PM

Thanks for the link.
There are some really good deals on that site. For the car and my bike. Very cool!

camaro2nv 07-23-2009 08:17 PM

Got a call today from Fedex. Looks like the Magnum Trans will be here Monday:yes: Now I can get that LS2 off the create stand and get them paired up.
After getting the rear clip tacked in I put the DSE tubs in there locations. I didnt care for the way they hide the Morrison frame rail. I want them to butt up to the rail and not overlap it. Im also running 345mm rear tires. I need all the room I can get. So I pulled out the poster board and started cutting it up. Heres what I came out with. This part has been fun for me because Ive never done fab work like this. Its givin me some time behind the welder. Its not welded in yet, I wanted some feedback first. Thoughts??
