Awesome. Definitely get some good shots of the rolling chassis when the drivetrain goes back in. Great garage wall Art.

PASD U 04-17-2010 08:01 AM

Nice. Excuse my ignorance but, what all mods did you do to the frame? I love the low gloss finish.

tobenk 04-17-2010 11:28 AM

Thanks guys. I basicly backhalved it for the four-link and tubs so thats what the bars are pointing up are for. Heres a pic of it before takin apart.

How are you going to apply the Raptor liner? I saw how it looked on Project Evade...Veeerrry nice.

tobenk 04-18-2010 03:55 PM

I bought a kit and it comes with a air gun.
Attachment 24326

PASD U 04-18-2010 07:30 PM

Ahhh, ok. You know, now that I see that, I think I saw that same kit the other day. Looking at Evade's thread, I just like how that stuff lays down. A nice, slight textured look.

tobenk 04-19-2010 03:16 AM

Yea I was goin us herculiner till I seen Evades thread to and seen how it layed out nice and it's about same price. I think I'm goin be real happy with it when I start to spray it.

tobenk 04-19-2010 11:25 AM

tobenk 04-19-2010 04:55 PM

350 for everything, thats blasting the frame, front springs, control arms, and rear dialongal link and shock brackets and coating them to. :D

It looks like we have a few things in common. OBS trucks and Mopars. I see the
big block Mopar in one of the back ground pictures. I am also working on a 69 Dart 340 4spd. I am putting in a 69 RoadRunner 383.

tobenk 04-28-2010 11:56 AM

Does it look better without the coils on valve covers?
Attachment 25504

Muscle Car PWR 07-01-2010 09:56 PM

Its a toss up. If you run the MSD coil packs they look pretty damn god but remote mounted would look cool too

street3285 07-02-2010 08:08 AM

Awesome project.

For the coils, I like the cleaner look without the coil packs. Lets more of the color on the valve covers show.

BlackenedRR 08-09-2010 03:12 PM

Man, seeing how clean your frame is makes me want to take my bed off and start getting rid of the rust. Lookin' great!!!

tobenk 08-09-2010 09:23 PM

Yea most are not goin to take it as far as I did put I had it apart so I got it blasted and powdercoater but nothing a little elbow crease and some good chassis paint can't fix. Urs is lookin good to. Eastwood makes good chassis paint if that's what u want do.

BlackenedRR 08-10-2010 02:40 PM

After I have a nice garage to work in, I'll tear it all down and get everything clean and powdercoated.

I heard that! LOL

Yeah, many years ago I wished, "man, I wish I had a garage". Now I have a two car garage and think, "D@m, I wish I had a garage large enough for storage, daily drivers AND projects!". Hahahahaha

tobenk 08-10-2010 10:14 PM

Yea guys a nice shop does help alot. I really don't have a excuse not to work on it. We even have it air conditioned. But in La u about have to. It's just the Monet thing that holds me up mostly.

PASD U 08-11-2010 03:55 PM

Yeah, Texas isn't exactly "shadetree" friendly. Hahaha
