Can someone (Fesler?) please build a nice legit dash/gauge insert for the 67-68 Camaro/Firebird?? I almost wish I had a 69 so I could get the DSE piece! :willy:

fesler 12-30-2008 07:13 AM

I am working on building all the dash parts now and am looking into metal and carbon fiber to get the price down where you guys will buy them. We will have a dash kit for a ton of the cars listed here very soon

Cread01 12-30-2008 08:25 AM

kinda off topic but do you know when the billet trunk hinges for second gen camaro's will be available?

Very cool. Looking forward to that Chris!

For all of us 67-68 guys out there I would think this would be a very good product to sell as an alternative to the Covans pieces.

Anvil makes one now.

True, but I want something that isn't just the stock original piece made out of carbon fiber. Something nice and custom like the DSE piece for 69s. :)

I do like the stock dual-tunnel panel but just redoing it exactly the same shape in a different material isn't too special in my opinion.

Craig67 01-01-2009 06:21 PM

Since nobody makes a re-pop, how about a nice center A/C vent for a 1967 Chevelle.

Don't mean to Hijack your thread, Chris, but I feel compelled to reply. Our 67/68 instrument panel looks like we just copied the original and made a carbon fiber version of it, but a lot of work went into making the openings larger so the aftermarket gauges would actually fit. You can jam gauges into a stock panel, but they get stuck before they totally bottom out into the recess. I do, however agree that a substitute panel that would fit more than two gauges would be great. Chris, let's work on this together and git 'er done!

Matt, my intent was not to badmouth your piece. It is a nice piece for sure. I was just looking for something different, as you said, specifically for a panle that would fit 6 or 7 gauges total like the DSE 69 piece. I should have chosen my words a little more carefully. My apologies for that.

BTW, I prefer when the 5" aftermarket gauges are inserted from the rear on the stock 67-68 panel. The fit is much better IMO. :)

JETSET700 01-04-2009 10:00 AM

Dash

I am looking for a 67' 68' dash insert to install a racepack into. The dual
layout of the panels out there make it difficult.

Peter

No worries, Gordon. I just wanted to set the record straight about our part.

How about some billet aluminum 1969 Camaro rear quarter louvers that have a mesh/grill insert that mimics brake cooling ducts?

'70-73 firebird tialights, turn signal bezels, side makers.

TreySmith 01-27-2009 04:49 PM

ANYTHING for a 70 GTO!!! That is the reason you don't see many of them. NO PARTS!! Lol...

The WidowMaker 01-27-2009 06:09 PM

headlight bezels for 70 chevelles, if it hasnt been said already.

1badchevelle 01-27-2009 09:09 PM

WE talked this weekend the the Grand National. I was looking for the 71 chevelle taillights with led sequential if possible. Pm me what you need to make it happen and how much will it run me.

Blitzwing 02-24-2009 12:51 PM

Hope I'm not too late on this.

I'll second the 70-73 LED Firebird Tail lights, marker lights.

And for those who run door handles still......How about some standard GM exterior hanles, like the 2nd Gen Fbody ones for example, in aluminum? Tons of applications for those and they would look excellent.

2Bad4Ya 02-25-2009 09:28 AM

I got an Idea

1st gen camaro dash center trim. The piece that is either black or wood grain trimmed in chrome that goes over the ac/heater, radio, ash tray section.

Make it with brushed aluminum or black anodized center area and polished outer lip. Make some with no openings and make some with cutouts in place.

How about door jamb vents for 68-72 Novas???

I agree, the 67 and 68s don't have many good choices for that center dash piece. I would buy something if it had a good place for a stereo and maybe a few gauges.

A quality center dash piece would be something that I would be interested in buying, especially if it had gauge space AND spot for a modern radio head unit. I also have to put my stamp of approval on door handles. I know it was posted before that they are in development, but I have yet to see anything else on them.

These probably wouldn't be a fabricated part on your end, but I would love to see you guys carry an aftermarket headlight kit for the 5-3/4" light crowd. You only seem to offer 5" and 7" units at the moment.

joe440 02-26-2009 05:21 PM

a body mopar stuff. there is nothing for us, cudas and challengers have a lot more offered already. but no one is really making cool billet stuff (like you guys do for camaros and such) for a bodies. some 68' dart hood hinges would be killer, also some rear tail light bezels,i think would sell like crazy. if interested in making any a body mopar stuff a great place for suggestions is www.forabodiesonly.com, im sure they'd be more than glad to give you some ideas.

bulldog19 03-07-2009 05:46 AM

Chris anything new on the 1st gen exterior door handles?
Thanks
John

BonzoHansen 03-07-2009 07:25 AM

I bet a lot of 2nd gen guys would like an auto shift plate in billet.

How bout the rubber piece on the rear bumper of a 70 Chevelle that has the SS emblem embedded in it. Make it out of Aluminum, anodize it black then remachine the SS emblem and on the other side machine the engine size with horsepower rating. Could even machine the name of the car, possibilities are endless. Of course you have to have a machining center with enough travel for the length of the part. Just buy a bigger machining center, just think of the number of parts you can put on the table at one time, cutting down on machine time, and cost, per part.

wookham 03-08-2009 06:57 PM
