update!

I haven't updated in awhile, been busy with a bunch of small things. Here are a couple of pics of what I did this past week. Made a mount for my battery mount and modified the LS3 oil pan to clear the DSE subframe. Then I added a kickout to replace the volume I removed from the front and added a little extra capacity. I also added in a bung for an oil temp sender.

This car is simply amazing. I feel so inadequate as a welder and or fabricator every time I look at this thread:bow: Keep the updates coming, the fab work is absolutely killer.

72novadriver 03-19-2009 10:57 PM

Thanks very much for the compliment!

I recieved the e brake handle from Lokar today. Just finished making a mount for it in the tunnel. Heres a pic!

Fitted the steering shaft tonight. It ran right into one of the header tubes. After some cutting and fitting we had an alternate route:fluffy: .

It's the GM performance LS3/480 stand alone harness.

Billy,

Nice Fab work! - as usual. This car is really coming together nicely. Just for curiosity's sake - what headers are you using?

Take care!

Will this plug direct to the racepak unit?

Thanks Brandon, the headers are stainless works ls headers for a 69 camaro with a stock subframe. I figured they wouldn't fit, but for the price I didnt mind doing some alterations.

Yep, I havn't dug into it yet but from what I read in the instructions the sender wires in the harness are open ended for use with aftermarket gauges which should allow me to wire right into the the race pak harness.

My God, tears are forming in my eyes--I can't tell if its pure hatred over your talent, jealousy of all your brandname parts, or just a real appreciation of your obvious talent.

I just asked my wife, it's jealousy.

Keep us posted so that I can learn to deal with it.

Do you have a desire to adopt a 37 year old son? Low maintenence, except for the jealous crying part.

Doug

72novadriver 03-26-2009 09:38 PM

Thanks for compliments Doug. I'm not sure on the adoption thing though. Society might frown on me having a son thats 13 yrs older than I am, but hey it's 2009 right:cheers:

Awesome work. Really like the fill tube setup. Are you using a Camaro tank? Or just modifying a Nova one?
