Like I said on PT.com, didn't see this one coming. :(

As I have said many times before, your original 68 with the LT1-T56 was a HUGE inspiration for my car.

You are a talented, innovative guy who gave alot to this community.

I always appreciated your fantastic customer service and attention to details.

You don't often recieve good service from the owner of a company large or small very much anymore, and you always provided good service and fantastic products. I wish I had more of your parts on my car.

I know personally from owning my own business, it's a cut throat world out there. Very hard to stay afloat sometimes. I've always beleived keeping overhead to an absolute minimum can help during the rough times. :_paranoid

Good luck to you brother, PM me your cell # the next time I am in Vegas we should get together for some beers!

Ryan

Who am I going to steal tools from? Where am I going to find someone to fix all the stuff I screw up? I can't believe you would do this to me! Don't give me that B.S. about how hard times are. Heck I just stole $500.00 out of your moms purse before she left last night. Your such a loser!

;)

hahaha your a clown!
didnt plan to make a post since just planed to talk to you in person, but curtis post had me laughing my azz off!!!!!!! your making the right choice man there no sence in getting yourself backwards in the buisness... youll be back.

All the best to you Tyler, in this day and age, its extremely tough to stay a float. Businesses are lucky if they can afford to just skate by. I can tell you from experience, weathering this economic storm has not been at all easy. Good luck with any future endeavors. I hope you'll be staying around the boards, and we'll hopefully run into each other again at a car show or two.

That's a shame Tyler.
Thank you for all the help, phone calls, parts and friendship over the years.

what a shame, when i was buying parts for my 69 ats had parts available nobody else even made, saved alot of time in fabrication, and top notch parts.cars for sale now, i think ill take some of those parts off, in case i cant get them again ,lol. hope when the economy gets back on track they can reopen full time

ItDoRun 01-10-2009 06:38 PM

What a bummer! I only had the luxury of talking to Tyler once when I was thinking of the T-56 swap, and what a helpful guy, I must say. I really hate to hear this.

Moose 01-11-2009 06:54 AM

this is sad.. The customer service i recieved from tyler on my t56 kit was just awesome. I was hoping to get everything for my ls1 setup from ATS.. hopefully on a part time basis, you can still a few parts.

anyway, thanks for the great service..

Wow.... I'm really sad to hear that Tyler.

One thing you might want to think about....you obviously have alot of connections and have a good reputation in the industry... think about consolidating your company with another local car business. Its hard to have a car business today and taking two smaller companies and making them into one larger business with a bigger market and more products can often keep both of them afloat. Just something to think about....

CRCRFT78 01-11-2009 05:17 PM

Sorry to hear about this but you'll be back I'm sure. As far as shutting the doors on this endeavor, whats to become of what inventory you have left? I'm mainly interested in what g-body parts you may still have available.

Nutsy 01-11-2009 09:07 PM

That is a major drag dood :( I hope that you will continue to contribute to both the Lateral-G and Pro-touring.com community as you are a very valuable member. Your vision and products have given me the vision for my car and you have always been so helpful and welcoming on the phone and even in your shop!

All the best! I really hope to see you bounce back!

Very sad to hear, from my couple of contacts with ATS (mainly Tyler) very stand up guys, and definitely one of the pioneers of the current Pro-touring scene. Very proud to say I'm running some of their high quality pieces on my car. Hope you are not "away" too long.
regards Roger

Tyler,
That sucks!

What is next for you? Are you staying in Vegas? Will you work for Porsche?

Good luck with what ever decision you decide.

Hang in there Tyler. Good people land in good places. Best of luck to you.

JohnnyGMachine 01-12-2009 08:04 PM

Tyler,

I really hope that you atleast stay and are able to acomplish some more killer stuff in the pro-touring world. I owe you a lot. Tyler was my very first client, he called me up and asked if I could help design a wild g-machine first gen Camaro that would be called 50/50. His ideas are so ahead of the curve it's ridiculous. Since that first job, Tyler also passed on a client to me that allowed me to be invovled in styling 2 new GTOs for SEMA. My first SEMA car build involvements. With that job I also met Chris Wilkins of Group 5 who I have been working heavly with on developing new OEM Custom SEMA cars in conjunction with Companies such as GM, Chrysler, and hopefully this year Ford. From this venture and now very good friendship I have been comissioned for many high profile projects which has done so much for me and Midnite Octane....all because of Tyler, his professionalism and, willingness to help out others in the car biz without expecting anything in return. Tyler, you're a class act and if you ever need anything just let me know. Please keep us all in the loop on 50/50 and it's future! Look forward to having ATS back someday!!!!

Thanks Tyler, and good luck with whatever it is you want to pursue in the future....Call if ya need anything,
John

awr68 01-12-2009 08:25 PM

John, that's some really cool background info...good stuff!!

130fe 01-13-2009 06:51 AM

Sad to hear that Tyler. Hope you hang in there at least part time, maybe things will get better. You guys put out some kick ass products!! Your customer service was one of the best around to deal with. Are you still going to be around for tech advice (your products)?

Kris Horton 01-13-2009 11:55 AM

I'm in the same boat as John here in that Tyler was one of my very first clients as well. Thanks to my working with him, I had a chance to meet and work with some really great people in this community and in the automotive aftermarket. I'm really sorry to hear that ATS is closing their doors, but I'm sure that it's not for good. Many people are struggling in this economy and it's affecting everyone in some way.

Best of luck man, may you land on your feet.

Kris

50/50

Tyler,
Sorry to see things are slow. Hopefully things will pick back up just give it time and hang in there. As for the 50/50 are you selling it or completing the build? I would be very interested in the project.

With all that Tyler has gone through with 50/50 he isn't allowed to sell it! If anyone deserves to have their dream car finished it's Tyler!

greenramp 01-22-2009 11:17 AM

I couldn't agree more, given what Tyler has been through, but when you need the money, you need the money. I offer the "Continuance" of a dream I truely share.

Josh69 01-22-2009 11:49 AM

Sorry to hear....hopefully it's temporary. 50/50 was a great inspiration for alot of us!

When the times are tough, the tough keep on doing stuff... or something like that....
