G-Body 01-31-2009 10:31 AM

Ive been following this build from conception and wow just gets nicer everyday in typical Troy fashion!
There was a guy talking to Troy at GG Columbus asking about the frame of this car when they had it there on display he was of course drooling over the frame and Troy said on a scale of 1 to 100 this frame was a 10 compared to the 36 they built for the ridler car! I about crapped because this frame is a work of art that 36 although had the chassis and suspension custom built to where this one has a viper unit, personally this 56 and everything it brings too the table is the next level we all talk about!
Now lets talk about power wooooooo weeeeeee lets see a nascar motor with not one but two turbos HELLOOOO and i f im not mistaken this car is being built for the owners wife! The color is fantastic too, Nice to see a great unique color again from troy compared to a a recent build color.
Congrats Troy on another blow everyone away build,

I agree with Troy, that 36 should have been displayed upside down.

Come on guys you don't like two tone primer? It's going to be the new thing. ;)

G-Body 02-01-2009 08:30 AM

The 48 is comming along really well thanks, Not at the pace of an open check book build! lol But just about finished with all the metal work and i can start on the frame and get in in some color! so alittle why'll longer pretty exciting to see it all coming together even without a team of pro builders!
Im sure all the guys that WORK on there cars will know how that is!

This car is going to blow people away at the first show in Wisconsin!
Is this car able to compete for the ridler being it has been shown at a show before hand?

No, it will not.

G-Body 02-01-2009 09:04 AM

I didnt think so either!
But wow i know thats there home town the world of wheels show in wis.
But I cant help but think i would of waited to at least give the rid award a shot this thing is amazing!

caper150 02-01-2009 10:28 AM

This thing is unreal, too bad it won't be at the World of Wheels in St. Paul.

RECOVERY ROOM 02-01-2009 02:22 PM

They did not want to build it for Riddler,And yes it could compete,The owner decided in November that he would like his wife to see it at the Wis. show. That is why they have been going 24/7 to get it done. When you have a shop full of talent and no budget anything is possible.I have been there working in there shop on 6 different cars for Troy and have seen first hand how much effort will be put in to these builds and it is not something that everyone can do without the resource's and talent. And to answer some of the emails I have gotten,No i did not have the time to do the Interior at there shop in this car, So I do not have anymore pictures than what is already there.....Troy asked me to do the 300 Interior first,We have had some health problems with my Mom and needed to stay close to home.Would have been good to be part of it but family has to come first.

Roger M 02-01-2009 02:32 PM

Thanks for the update, Tracy.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but when is Micheal Anthony's Nomad going to be finished?

RECOVERY ROOM 02-01-2009 02:37 PM

looks like change of plans due to time constraints...so its debut will be Detriot...im betting its a shoe in for the Great 8:thumbsup:

Doesn't qualify because the motor and chassis has been seen under construction at other shows. I've heard of cars being DQed because the engine builder displayed the motor on a stand in a vendor booth at a show. They mean it when they say the car must debut in Detroit.

joe440 02-14-2009 01:06 PM

thats just stupid they DQ'd this car cause of that, this thing is absolutely amazing. I think it would take home the ridler no questions!

I'll have to double check, but if memory serves me correctly (I'll have to check with Bob Millard) the last update to the rule was that the car couldn't be in paint and publicly shown or in print prior to the show. Bare metal is fine. All that changed after after Chip won with the Grandmaster. That car had been seen in print in baremetal. So last I knew, as long as it hadn't been publicly shown or in print while painted, it was okay. However, I could be wrong.

customcam 02-14-2009 03:29 PM

I hope he enters, how could they not let him enter

RECOVERY ROOM 02-14-2009 04:45 PM

They didn't build it to Riddler standards,The bottom of the car was built for being a driver.Troy said the owner wants to drive it.Custom Rod of the year would be easy,Maybe Street Machine also

joe440 02-15-2009 11:10 AM

well if the owner wants to drive it thats more understandable and (to me)10 times cooler

G-Body 02-15-2009 05:42 PM

Looks like its going to be at the Mich. for the Ridler after all, from the looks of there updated site at Troys. Dew to the fact that the wisconsin deadline was looking a little unrealistic the owners decided the quailty of the car was more important instead of rushing the build they would reveal it at Detroit

This should make for an interesting show anyone know of any other high end builds heading to detroit this year or is everone keeping there builds hush hush? Could be back to back!

Mizfit 02-15-2009 06:12 PM

good job guys great car so far:thumbsup:

notorious1970 02-17-2009 09:46 PM

It will not go for ridler because it was shown in columbus as said by a few peeps on here. THe bottom is speedlined the color of the chassis, because Roger is going to drive the hell out of it. I spoke to jared on the cell a few days ago..the electronics he is doing is going to be sick! The detroit show is going to be great..if you can go, be sure to. The 56 and the nova are going.

In print is fine and very common but at a show is where they draw the line.

buickfunnycar.com 02-18-2009 12:22 PM

been following this one from the beginning...wouldn't expect anything less from Troy's shop...those guys are metalwork masters.

stunning...absolutely stunning.

slownova 02-18-2009 12:51 PM

****ing wow.

waynieZ 02-18-2009 01:24 PM

Very Nice

4cefed 02-18-2009 05:14 PM

So what happens when they go to adjust the control arms on this thing? Does the paint scar badly? Or is the caster, camber and toe all setup when the thing is in bare metal still and just referenced for reassembly via alignment holes?
