Just thought I would show some of the latest photo's. Took it out yesterday for a spin, Going down the road on an egg crate is a little scary. But every thing works great. Some Good News. Tracey ( Recovery Room ) will be taking care of the interior sometime after the first of the year. If everything goes according to plan. The first show should be Columbus.
The best thing about Tracey is he's really stay's in touch with me and guides me in the right direction. After working on this car for 5 years it's real easy to just go in the house and watch TV. But I keep going on. |
Looking good man. Are you sure you have enough wattage? :unibrow:

I like it loud! Still not sure about the amp configuration yet. I may hide them in the floor but I need to get air to them some how.

Looking fabulous! And a DROP TOP!!
I have a buddy that spent 10 years building his 56 Belair... and let me tell you -- watching him drive that car now - it was worth every minute of the effort. He did it all in a two car garage... including the mile deep black paint. SO turn off that TV and stay out there!!  |
nice job
The car looks great.love the paint scheme.
congrats on tracy doing the interior...that should really top the car off. tom |
HEY! You didn't tell me about driving the car when we were on the phone yeasterday! Congrats buddy!! :woot:
Car looks great! Man that audio stuff sure brings back a lot of good memories! FWIW, I have used CPU fans to push and pull air over amps in semi-sealed enclosures and it works very well! I just wired them up to the remote amp turn on wire (usually blue). |
Looks good Mark!

Well I know I'm a little behind in the updates but I find myself real busy over the last couple of months. I need to thank Bill Amsley for lending me his mold for the convertible top cover. turned out pretty good for the first time I did it. There should be lots of updates this week so stay tuned. Due to weather the interior has been delayed a little to Tracy has been walking me though some things I could do in the mean time. We got the Marquez Dash but Tracy will be putting his special touch to it.
Lets start with the weather that has held everything up. |
here is the mold from Bill Amsley for the convertible cover.

Looks like you had the wife and kids out there shoveling!
It's so pretty... Are you hoping it last a few more weeks? |

Time is costing me money, when I say that I mean the longer the car stays hear the more I change my mind. so hear is the new shifter. I decided to go with the master shifter with Steve's ( Twistmachine) paddles. I cound find a shifter that met my needs, once I found out Steve and mastershift was working togethor I was sold.

BTW, how did you mount the gauges behind the Marquez piece? Looks like a fair amount of thought had to go into it, they look like the same ones I've got which have a curved face. Matt |
Matt, they are the same gauges you have. all I had to do is grind away about a 1/8 in off the back piece of the gauge cluster. I was able mount them from behind and still use the curved glass and Marquez rings on the out side. Marquez did a great job on the cluster and I really wanted to use there rings. I also polished the rings. The center gauge I had to make up myself using some parts from Classic instruments and the gauge from mastershift.
|
Mark.... WOW!! Thats all I can say!!LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE The cluster great job!!:wow:

Mark is it just the pic's or does your radio not look to be in the optimal place looks like it would be hard to see?
