Hey Scott,
Are the pictures of the vehicles on the street at the beginning of your pictures in downtown Racine. If so I didnt even realize there were cars up there. I though they were all down by the waterfront.
Who all ran at Great Lakes prior to the rain? Was this an afterthought because there was no autox in Racine.

Great pics of course Scott...more JA please inside, outside, underside! :wow:

This rod was sweet and built very tastefully. Love the ushrod suspension front and rear. Great contender in the autox.

Dave, yep, all those cars and people were up in the streets of racine, away from the waterfront. It was a lot warmer up there. lol

It was great talking to you Scott. Have fun the rest of the way. Who is going to keep an eye on Charley when you go back home?

Well Ill be #@%* It looks like I missed half the show. 1/2 the time spent talking to the Mike Ring and the other half waiting in line for hotdogs for the kids. I guess if I would of cut through town instead of driving the short cut I know to the waterfront I would of noticed all the other cars.
At 10mpg with the truck I would have burned a tank full trying to cut through that crowd LOL

Thanks for posting those and for the shout-out, Scott! I've been dying to see that car and it's a huge career milestone to have our wheels on a Hot Rod magazine project car. I'll hit Rob up for some content for the website as soon as he gets back in the office.

Hey Scott,

Can you enlighten us on what happened here. Found it on Yenko.net and Ken said you lost a bolt in the lower control arm. I am curious can you tell us more?

Glad it didn't happen at speed.

buickfunnycar.com 06-09-2009 12:51 PM

Holy hell...didn't look like it caused any body damage hopefully, coulda been a whole lot worse.
Sorry to see that Scott...

Rybar 06-09-2009 01:02 PM

Holy crap! Everything ok with the car Scott?

Teetoe_Jones 06-09-2009 01:04 PM

Please tell me that didn't happen because of the rear LCA bolt being in single shear.

I hadn't noticed that until you mentioned it - Tyler. I just looked at the pics. Whatever happened, I'm glad that the damage doesn't look to be too severe and everyone is OK.

That's scary stuff.

XcYZ 06-09-2009 01:39 PM

Nah, looks way worse than it actually was. The rear LCA bolt that threads into the frame backed out. Jacked it up and threaded the bolt back in and back on the road in minutes. Only when I backed up with the wheels at full lock did the fender extension get bent. Kurt is already painting a new one for me.

Hey, it's Power Tour. Lol

Safety wire is your new best friend.... Glad that is all that it was. It could have been much worse.

Glad to hear it wasn't bad Scott. The pics seem to make it worse than it was!

And a big thanks to Ken (Kwhizz). He was our Tour guide leading the way. Hanging with good people having a good time is what the Tour is all about.

Doesn't look as bad as when a new balljoint came out of it's socket on my DD.

Glad the car is ok and it was an easy fix.
