Damn Charley!:D

The attention to detail to make that look like a cockpit of a fighter is incredible. I like the both side drive!

No drive on the left side. Car is from Australia so it is right hand drive...

Car
Unbelievable detail in that car. Your dogs are going to run for shelter when you fire that up, LOL.

I would like to see a video of this thing running and maybe a burnout or two.....lol |
Hey Charley, if I chip in for say 20 gallons of 100 low lead avgas (enough for 5 minutes of runtime probably, LOL) can I come up and get a ride?
If the Power Tour had an award for "most gas consumed" over the trip, I think I know who would win. :P I've seen this thing 3 times at various airshows over the last couple years and the attention to detail, planning, design, and overall craftsmanship is nothing short of outstanding. However, he always had a sign out front that said "No, I will not start it just so you can hear it" at the display. :P Troy |

That thing is intimidating as hell. Can't imagine what it'd be like to sit in that thing while it's running.

The Merlins were originally intended to use 87 octane in the pre-WW2 days, then changed to take advantage of 100 octane in the XX variant early on in the war; and I believe the 1650-7 (the Packard variant) was also originally intended to run 100 octane, but substantial power gains came from running even higher octane avgas and running more boost. This is all splitting hairs though... and I still want to make the short drive up to Charley's place for a ride (and do more burnouts in his driveway-- LOL) :unibrow: |
OH BTW, emergency boost numbers on the supercharger is like 75 psi!!! Full power boost is around 50 psi if I remember right. It has been too long since I looked it up the last time. Try that with you BB Chevy.
