Currently working on desiging some exhaust hangers & this is what we have so far for welding on the pipes.. We will be finalizing the design today on the exhaust hanger today to machine on Monday.. We will be machining a pin out of 17-4 stainless that the grommet will go between hangers just like a shock mount on a coilover :D

Exhaust Hanger Assembly

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/P1050019.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/P1050018.jpg |
man, that stuff in jewelry- very nice:thumbsup:
|
It looks awesome, But what exactly are you hanging that exhaust from that they have to be so long, and how heavy is your exhaust that it has to be that strong. Just curious. Cool lookin parts, just seems like WAY OVERKILL.
|
Thanks Rodger! The hangers ended up being so long cause we are mounting to the side of the pipe instead of the top. Trying something different! This is overkill, I do agree with that statement but we like to make billet parts :unibrow: On the top we machined a 1/4 steel plate with mounting holes that we will weld to body & box.. We just don't want the exhaust moving since everthing is tight & dont want a rattling exhaust.
First exhaust we do here @ the shop that does not come pre-fab.. http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/P1060028.jpg http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...n/P1060021.jpg Quote:

X2 very nice..

Cris your the man wow !! Are you going to sell these??
|
Wow -- I had to make those pics my new "pin ups"!
|
Doesn't the exhaust grow when it gets hot?
Those look to be pretty buff and solid. When you look under a car there is the shaft and rubber gromet and the shaft is about like over 1/2 inch longer so that it can slide and move. |
Doesn't the exhaust grow when it gets hot? yes
We have used this set up for sometime now on the pre-fab exhaust system we have done here @ the shop & had no problems with them.. The shaft with the nipple has never been a favorite of mine but will have them in both configurations.. http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...rassemby-1.jpg Quote:

Thanks Mario! I will be selling these.. I will PM get you pricing..

Looks good. |
My buddy Pierre (He's Italian and his mother names him PIERRE - so I nicknamed him Frenchie) put an AutoRad in his 56 Chevy when we converted his big block from carb to 8 stack EFI -- that radiator and core support (polished) is a WORK OF ART.
Beautiful stuff! Nice work Gonzo! |
