X2. I am waiting for updates too. How did the visit to Nelson go and SEMA after?

gracin7 12-13-2009 07:31 PM

AWSOME looking car!!!!

Josh69 12-14-2009 10:53 AM

Cool concept. Just curious, and I'm no expert on chassis fab, but is it safe to have that much metal removed from the rear frame rails, especially at the high stress area at the top of an existing arch? I'm curious what the rationale is for removing so much. Are you adding structure on the topside? It looks like it could just snap in half with the quarter panels not far behind.

Sorry guys updates are coming,We are just waiting for Tom nelson to finish a few things up on the motor and we can get it shipped out here, hopefully well be back into it after xmas.
The cut outs wont effect the rear of the car at all everything will be tied into the cage when its fabricated.

moparnate 12-19-2009 09:25 PM

I like the way the car is turning out, the rendering without the white top is my favorite.

Damn that is one badass looking engine! The whole build is very cool the engine is a show stopper.

214Chevy 12-22-2009 10:49 PM

Why even dyno it? Since it is a Nelson engine you already know it has a gazillion horsepower. Just kidding, you have a beautiful engine. :hail:

phillym5 12-22-2009 10:56 PM

Wow... thats real tight. The whole project is amazing.
I would love to have that motor on a stand just chillin in my living room.

Bow Tie 67 12-23-2009 05:19 AM

Killer looking engine. The last pick kind of reminds me of a bull, I can picture the thing getting ready to run you over.

You've got to be kidding me. That would be like having the hottest girlfriend/wife on the planet and never ...er...um.... "consumating" the relationship. As pretty as it is (can't believe I used that word for an engine) it needs to be flogged and flogged HARD ! If I had it, I'd run it like I hated it and attempt to get a 110% reading out of the TPS while my passengers screamed like little girls begging to get out.

In looking at the shot from the front, it just flat out screams MOPAR ! It looks like a very angry evil ram is coming at you , perfect for the Dodge it is going into !

Tom- incredible, inspiring, awesome ! You and your team have outdone yourselves yet again.

:woot:  :hail:

This thing is killer by the way!

you can achieve this same thing with a bead roller. You can also change the shape of the edge by using different dies. You could use a tank roll, 1/8" step die, 45 degree step die, pretty much the sky is the limit.

snowskater6996 01-30-2010 07:40 PM

Gives the saying elephant motor a whole new meaning with the way the intake looks the the elephants trunk lol

Been awhile since my last post on this car ,the engine finally turned up a few weeks ago so a bit of fab work has been going on in getting it shoehorned in place. Shane.

417 Motorsports 03-31-2010 06:10 PM

Did I miss the info on the motor and turbo stuff? Looks like a Nelson intake/ turbo headers/ and there turbos

MoparCar 03-31-2010 06:53 PM

Very nice updates. Wow-looks great!

Question: In the first posts it appears you made new upper shock mounts for the front XV Motorsports suspension. Am I seeing this correctly and if so was this done to lower the ride height or for other reasons? I'm contemplating their front suspension for my project and their normal ride height has always seemed a bit high. I do realize your build is very low.

Any pictures of the rear suspension installed.

Great build.

Wes
