Probably, it's not set in stone yet. Wheels/Tires, Brakes and shocks are the last things I need to get.

War 11-23-2009 07:34 PM

Your fabrication is truely a work of art. What I find amazing is that you said that you are just learing to fabricate, is this correct? I think that you are setting the bar high with future builds! Can't wait to see this masterpiece completed!

Kendall Burleson 11-23-2009 08:00 PM

killer fab work outstanding I love the car that was at the SEMA show

bentfab 11-23-2009 09:19 PM

Question ? On your panels are you useing a male female buck and press ? Bead roller ? Or tracer buck on a pullmax ? Or what ever else you have up your sleeve ? I think I'm going to change a few things on the Cuda I'm builbing after seeing your work. Very inspiring.

Mark

phillym5 11-23-2009 09:31 PM

Finally you put this thread up....
Im thinking this will be the baddest 69 yet!!

I really can't wait to see what else your going to do with the car. :woot:

DOOM 11-24-2009 06:24 AM

Jason I went through your build thread and have a question... Can you tell me what method you use for closing or opening the body gaps.

Bow Tie 67 11-24-2009 09:47 AM

I have the same questions? Also, will all the body seams be smoothed?

I'm using a bead roller. I would love to have a pullmax though, that would open alot of new doors.

1/8" round bar and welder for closing, grindin and weldin for opening. There alot in of steps and it takes alot of time. I hammer and dolly edges as flat and thin as I can get before adding or removing material. On edges of quarters and such if there soft I will cut and add rod to get a sharp edge. You have to go slow and take your time with lots of hammer and dolly work. I seen some guys make a mess out of panels. Pacual said you can have your gaps out of bondo or metal, you choose.

I had to re-skin both doors and I fully welded the inside so there are no seams

Here is some pics of the doors

Most of the seams will be smoothed

DOOM 11-24-2009 04:50 PM

Jason THANX!!
I get it now, this was a MAJOR concern with my build. So when you add the 1/8 inch round bar you then weld the bar the complete lenght of the edge correct  Tig or Mig:question:

bentfab 11-24-2009 05:13 PM

Thanks !!!

Unfortunately no new progress.

War 11-27-2009 05:41 PM

Thought I would post some pics of the new latches and strikers I installed. Didn't care for the stock ones much so I picked up a pair from a Lexus IS350. Doors close much more quite and with little effort.
