yeah, Chris wants something different this time around, nothing wrong with that. Took the car for a quick trip to the hardware store yesterday, reminded me of why I like it so much. The full frame car rides nicer than any Camaro I've ever driven.

Jody, sorry to read you are selling your car. I am sure when the time is right a new idea and car will be in your garage:thumbsup: Your toys are top notch and the next owner of this car will be very happy.

Best of luck and if there is anything I can do to help let me know.

thanks Nick. Not necessarily what I want to do, but it's the right thing to do. You being self-employed know that you have to protect the business, and I'm just uncomfortable with the strain these work equipment payments have put on the business since the economy slowdown. Were not an issue at all three years ago when I bought them, but that is not true today.

I already have a new project set up when I sell the Chevelle. It will be a very low dollar build (for me anyway!) and should be a cool car. I'll let everyone know once the Chevelle is gone and the new project is here.

yes it's re-listed. A fraction of what it costs to build, seeing if anyone is paying attention................

screaming deal

Jody,

Great price for an awesome car.

Have you tried listing the car on hotrodhotline.com

I have used that site many times and it really does work well.

Take care,
Chris

thanks Chris. You know, I registered there today but then stopped as it's $125 to list a car if you want any amount of text and more than a pic or two. I have never heard of that site until this week, so not completely sold yet.

I'll wait it out for a bit first.

I have a truck listed on Hotrodhotline and will let you know how it works out. I did the cheap ad. There were not alot of feature ads and for 35 bucks I thought it might be worth a try.

I have had 2 tire kickers so far.

Hotchkis springs, shocks, and lower a-arms. SPC upper a-arms, and AFX spindles.

Jody I hate to see you get beat up that bad on this awsome car maybe you should look into the barret jackson pavillion you can put your car in there with a fixed price that you want. you don't have to have to get your azz handed to you like I did at the no reserve.the area still gets tons of traffic.and 3/4 of the cars there were sold by the end of the week.:captain:

70rs 12-02-2009 08:24 PM

Bump for one amazing car.:hail:

LowchevyII 12-02-2009 08:24 PM

hes gonna have to get like 100k for it at Barrett to get the 85k on ebay because of all the seller fees and commissions etc. probably not worth the hassle but it is a shame to see this go for under 100k. no way you can duplicate anything close to this for that price. good luck wiht the sale

is there actually a 15% fee/commission for the Pavilion? I know there is on the no-reserve auction portion with buyer/seller fees put together, but do they actually charge a seller that for a fixed price section?

LowchevyII 12-02-2009 09:07 PM

from the site:

WHAT DOES IT COST TO SELL MY CAR?

To sell a vehicle at Barrett-Jackson, the Consignor is responsible for an entry fee as well as a Seller’s commission of 8% of the hammer price. The entry fee is determined by day and time of your Lot entry and includes tent space. Payment of fees without a signed contract does not constitute a consignment agreement

that's for the live auction part. The Pavilion is a separate thing, where you park your car with a for sale sign and price. No bidding, if you don't get a price you want it doesn't sell.

Someone mentioned that I would have to sell if for $100K to net $85K, and that seems way high. But maybe they charge a higher fee since there's no risk involved.

I have an e-mail in to BJ, was just wondering if maybe someone had any experience selling at the Pavilion and knew the fee structure.

Flash68 12-02-2009 09:17 PM

Buyer's commission is 10% for onsite bidders (more for absentee).

Seller's commisson is 8%.

It's all listed on their website in the consignors and bidders FAQ.

so the Pavilion with me setting my price is the same commission as the no-reserve auction? Do you know what other fees they charge to take your car?

I only researched the commissions and did not know about the pavillion for sale section til someone posted about it recently.... I still have not heard back from BJ since I countered their Sunday "primetime" offer with a Fri or Sat primetime slot or no dice!

You may want to shoot Bob Johnson an email. Bob has plenty of experience with BJ.

Do you have another project in mind? If so, what is it?

LowchevyII 12-02-2009 10:33 PM

ah i had no idea there was a separate thing called the pavillion, i thought all of the cars eventually went to live auction.

mazspeed 12-02-2009 11:42 PM

Hey Jody. I'm talking with RS right now about their auctions. That might be the place to go. I will know more tomorrow.

I have heard RS is much better to deal with! I have also heard rumors that reserves may be coming back into play at BJ? Not sure if true or not though?

E.rodz 12-03-2009 12:17 PM

I can't remember the details of the pavilion but after I was there I thought to myself this would have been a much better deal and way better on my liver you can be there and sell your car or just leave it and let the car sell it's self.even seemed to be a better deal after getting sucked into the sun primetime deal.just trying to help you guys out.:)
