round two was completely worth it.. almost no texture.. im sure it will shrink a tad in the sun, but its not a show car so it will be fine..

Sounds like you are having a great time! That's awesome! Enjoy the final steps as it becomes a complete car!
|
The cowl and cowl moulding are in. very tight squeeze. cant wait to get the belt mouldings and drip rail mouldings on.. if it will ever quit raining so i can black out the inner window channel. it think once the rims go on its going look awesome! i also cant wait to get the clevises and heims in for the spoiler
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...b/b450c2d5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...b/9c1ebc86.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...b/d6f2ac30.jpg |

got the spoiler under way. i used the stock spoiler and diced it up then hit ebay and got hardware CHEAP. i still need to get smaller diameter stainless washers and do a little tidy-ing up.. im either going to use acorn nuts on the front side or drill and tap it and use a machine screw(prolly the second) still trying to decide what to paint what color.. over all i am happy with the spoiler. its no jake's spoiler but i have less than $60 tied up in the whole thing. i think paint and a little cleaning up is going to go a long way and make it look even better in my eyes.. |
And yes all the gaps between the quarters and spoiler will be tightened up. Lol
|
Very cool man. Moving right along.

Well I've decided I'm going to Go back with a factory spoiler for now. I think I'm also going to go ahead and tackle raising the trunk floor a little so can use the caprice gas tank I have. The car is still for sale and i've gotten alot of calls and emails but no one has actually came to see the car yet. I'm thinking I might take the car to goodguys ft worth with a price tag on it and if there's no buyers I might see what it does on eBay. I just wanted to offer I on pro touring And lateral g first.
heres a pic with all the trim and mirrors installed. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...b/89c8a0ca.jpg |
I've been wanting to come up and take a look at your car. I'm just down the road from you in the Decatur area. If I didn't have a garage full of 67 Camaro, I would jump on it. So tempting.
|
She's looking good!
|
thanks guys.. so i went ahead and tackled the trunk. i think it turned out great. from the bottom i made a pinch weld on the sides then turned the floor edge up horizontally on the front and rear. that way i have plug welds from the side then an overlap buttweld on the front and rear edges. after i got it all welded up i used some seam sealer then some rubberized under coating. im thinking about going ahead and "finishing" out the truck with some nice carpeted or vinyled panels and carpeted floor. i will post up some pics here in a few..

so i made a cardboard template then cut it out of metal and rolled all the edges. i trimmed the front and rear tabs for a flush fit
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...b/eecd2f97.jpg then i marked the trunk and brought the mark down 3/4" for a pinchweld on the sides http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...b/75ac0330.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...b/5c3a530f.jpg test fit http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...b/def43cdc.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...b/6a204fda.jpg |

the rust in the trunk floor was actually my fault.. word of advice: never keep any cardboard in your trunk.. it will hold water and wrot your floor in no time flat!! i knew better and just overlooked it..:willy:

got the wheels on today. I threw the new rear end under there just quick enough to bolt the wheels on and be able to roll it in and out of the shop. Im going to need to order some longer studs but if I put a 1/2" spacer on each side it looks like the 285/35/19's are going to fit perfect! They fit now with 1/4" spacers but articulation will be a problem.
I dont want to go too fancy with the rear suspension yet because there are too many options. Anyways, here are some pics. Tomorrow Im going to crank the front adjusters down and block the rear end to see what stance i want. Im thinking I will probably drop it 2" all the way around. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h_aa5a02b9.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h_cf0ba648.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h_667a0a46.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h_56c5d134.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h_16eec31c.jpg |
Dullboy
I looked at this car this last weekend and it is sweet.. The Red color is awesome and has shimmers of blue that reflect in the sunlight. I thought I was seeing stars.. Nice work Brantley..
|
Very cool. Looks good. Should look very nice when down to desired suspension settings.
|
thanks! well i put it down about 2" all the way around. car looks completely different now! i had it slammed out like 4" but i'm no D-FRESH! lol. I cant wait to hit up good guys tomorrow and pick up a front and rear spoilers. should really tie up the exterior of the car..
