Alan and I have a storage building we share in Alabama and I'm being evicted from Bobs place in Georgia [only one there] after his latest "13" splurge at BJ scottsdale |
One of my favorites, wish you lived in the Seattle area so I could see this in person. Hope to see more pics of it on this site. Congratulations, please let us know if it's ever in the great NW.

coopercarz,so the Cuda is yours? I'd love to see it in person, I read a while back the car used to be in Florida, is that correct? Where is it now? If you don't mind me asking.

OK I just wanted to step in and..... make you guys jealous. The car is that nice in person, lol. Bob lives about 45 minutes from me so I'd get to see it when he brought it out to Year One events. If you know it will be at a show and you're thinking of attending, just go. It's worth the time even if you only get 5 minutes with it. Flip through the build pictures too if the book is there. The metal work that was done is ridiculous. Great car and I'm so happy I got to see it while it was still local.

http://www.popularhotrodding.com/fea...aro/index.html and not turboed. Built by Alan Johnson as well. I see a trend :) You may be thinking of the other Bob Johnson. I believe his black 69 was turbo charged. twins if I am not mistaken. His was a slightly different car on the outside though. I want to say his was a convertible but that doesn't seem right. |

Yes you are correct that is Battle Axe... Ive owned it many years...that's a really fun car!!! for the right number I might part with it? |
That is a great story. Very cool how neither Alan and Bob knew about it either. :)
That old saying 'its the thought that counts' at the end of the day, that's what really matters when gifts are given. Obviously a lot of thought went into your wife's gift Doug. |

Would you bring G-Force to the Optima Challenge if invited?

Why? :_paranoid |
I know they would most probably extend an invitation... I'd rather follow the trend for that event and build a really small light weight car to compete for the win! Alan, Bob and I have discussed it already. I dont know that it fits into Alans shop schedule for this year... we will see?
|
What a surprise to have this car back in the family after being stashed away in a private collection for all this time. I am sure Doug was more surprised than I was. I know he will enjoy it ,use it, and treat it as it was built to be. It needs it's legs stretched on occasion, not locked up in the garage all the time.

Welcome to Lat-g Bob. I was sad to hear the XXXLR was wrecked but glad you walked away. Think Doug will let you drive his Cuda some time? I know you've got to be missing it a little.
