Well I finally had a few our to work on my car last night so I installed the BMR controls and sway bar, a set of Tie rod adjusters, and the AFCO coilovers. Shes coming together slowly but not to much longer now. BMR is shipping the torque arm and my new strange housing tomorrow. So we will start the rear install later in the week

dont tell me your keeping those seats! The Car looks good otherwise.
|
Have you checked how much total weight difference between the steel and the carbon fiber parts?
|
I would say at least 30 off the nose, and 15 of fthe back

Quit posting pictures Chad and get to work...

I'm wanting to!!! but I got to sit behind this desk and do my normal job till 5!!!! :faint:

Been a busy couple of weeks on the car. Complete BMR suspension is installed, 3" Stainless exhaust has been fabricated and installed, Ricks tank installed, and fuel plumbing has began. Made the decision to run the 19/20 combo from Forgeline that I had for the Challenger project. The 17's were causing way to many issues in the rear, back spacing was setup for the inboard leaf spring setup that previous owner had fabricated. So they were interfering with the BMR lower arms. I'll have to send the fronts off to be rehooped! Even though with the 285 I can almost turn lock to lock in the front. Might just change out the rear hoop and go to a 255 front as back spacing is perfect right now

Rolled her off the lift last night, underside is done. Moved her into the other bay, and put Freedombird back on the lift to chase some fluid leaks.
She sure does look mean on those Forgelines and looks sweet sitting there with Freedombird!! Shes real close, I hope to have her on the road within the next few weeks http://www.fletcherscustoms.com/copp...00505-1904.jpg http://www.fletcherscustoms.com/copp...00505-1850.jpg http://www.fletcherscustoms.com/copp...00505-1844.jpg http://www.fletcherscustoms.com/copp...00505-1844.jpg |

You know what one gets my vote!

Looking really good Chad!

Well its been a little while since a update. Car is progressing rather smoothly!! Exhaust is done, fuel system is done. Spent this weekend wiring the dash and laying Dynamat. My hands are look like I've been playing with barbed wire. tons of tiny little cuts from under the dash and the foil backing on the dynamat, and then theres the place I tried to take my thumb off with the razor blade!!! I'm ordering a few parts today to get the running portion finished. My interior guy is coming tomorrow for headliner and door panel install. Should be a couple weeks to go

number 2 is nice
|
i say we leave the carbon unpainted and just paint the nose to cover the stripes. or wrap the nose in carbon.
|
Thats my plan!!!
|
I say ditch that style CF hood, make a 2piece CF Cowl hood with the cowl being like a shaker hood attached to the motor, leave the cowl section in CF and paint the rest of the hood.

I'd always thought of doing a Trans Am hood with a double long (two grafted together) shaker assembly covering dual fours or a tripower... |
Well yesterday it finally happened. The moons aligned and the stars shined bright as we finally got to add fluids to Shop Beater and fire her up. Everything went great fired on the first turn of the key, and purred like a kitten. Still got a little tuning to do, timing needs some playing with, and she a little rich on idle currently. She should be on the road later this week. Have to install driveshaft, install rear calipers, and bleed brakes. Interior guy is coming over today to do headliner and door panels and get the the measurements to do some custom rear tub covers for the mini tubs. Getting really exciting now

Well doesn't look like I'll be able to make it up north this weekend. Still to many things to work out on the car. So looks like debut will be Peach State
|
Well she is finally road worthy. Drover her 3 miles last night and I'm still grinning from ear to ear. Nothing like a blower!! Totally insane the amount of power this thing makes. Few little things to do, and then we are headed off to Peach State tomorrow night.
Got her in the booth yesterday and got rid of the white stripes on the nose. Also a pic of the rear setup http://www.fletcherscustoms.com/copp...00629-1912.jpg http://www.fletcherscustoms.com/copp...00616-1904.jpg |
Looks good Chad! I won't be making it to PSMC :( But the good reason for that is where pulling out the 396 and droping in a heavily modified LS2 :D
Have fun this weekend and let me know how it was. |
yeah I saw on your build thread you were pulling the motor. I knew you wouldn't be happy with the 396. It sounds mean but lacks some serious balls!!

Well just as soon as shes on the road, Its back i the shop to tear it down! WE are making some huge changes up front. We will now be running a Jake's Rod Shop C6 subframe with his DOM control arms, splined sway bar, and his customs Try-y headers. Also changing brake setup to C6 355mm 6 pistons, and changing the wheels to some 18" Forgeline WC3R with BFG rubber. If you want to play with the big dogs you got to spend the dough!!
|
I'm really loving the 2nd gen's these days, especially that orange, just makes it look so damn aggressive and in your face... sick car!!
It may be just me, but in all those pics you just posted it looks like it's constantly tilted to the passenger side...?? |
IT does look tilted!! Dumb luck I guess! Cause shes perfectly square sitting still
|
Chris, how come you did't paint the hood, deck lid, and rear spoiler when you were painting the header panel to get rid of the white stripes? Just a personal thought....but I think it would have looked more consistant and 'finished'...and you already had the paint in the gun........
|
I am gonna say he wants to show the Carbon Fiber off in my book.

I'll eventually paint the carbon pieces! We did the nose cone blend in about 2 hours in between getting the car running. Didn't have time to do everything else. This winter the whole car is getting painted , that is if it stays around that long
