Well, its been awhile since I updated. Been super busy as my father-on-law passed away in July, vacation, & spending time with my two boys. Last week I got some time to work on it a little. So.....I took the door skins off as I had found where some bodywork had been done. It was fixed correctly, but me being picky, i decided to replace them.
I plan to take the car to Dan, owner of Holohan's HotRod Shop this Sat for him to install rear quarters and a couple of other small things, then swing by the Charlotte Auto Fair. Anyone one coming to the autofair, PM and we can exchange numbers and meet up. http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0218.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0219.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0222.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0223.jpg |
Spoke with Dan
Yesterday at his shop. He said you were bringing your car. Mine should be up there some time after RTTH as well. Hopefully I will see you up there some time.
Not going to the auto fair. Had an oil pump problem and my motor is sitting on a stand. Plan on putting it back in this weekend. I am about 20 minutes south of the race track. If you have time to kill, come on down. My cell is 704-564-8577. |
Thanks for the offer Peyton. I'll call you if I have time to swing by. If not, we'll plan to meet at Dan's.

Nice progress Jay. Keep us posted.
|
Nice job on the skins Jay...
 :hail: |
Thanks guys. The skins and rear quarters are AMD and I am impressed with the quality. Nice sharp bends and heavier gauge metal.
|

update from Holohans Hot Rod shop
I dropped the wife's car off with Dan Holohan at his shop in Mooresville a couple weeks ago. He has started on it and sent some pics.
Fixing backglass area http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/DSCN0443.jpg Had to add some metal to PS door for skin to fit to. http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/DSCN0474.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/DSCN0476.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/DSCN0478.jpg Passenger door skin on and hung. Gaps look good http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0233.jpg Driver door gaps...making progress http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0237.jpg Removing quarter panel http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0240.jpg |
Great work Jay. Looking good.
|
Metal dare not obey Dan. ;)
|
Its looking good.

Here are some more pics. Dan is doing an awesome job. I could not ask for better work, attention to detail and all work done correctly as if it was his car.
He catches the small things, like the RR had been replaced before, but the qtr panel re-enforcement panel was not there. Alot of shops would have not said a word,, taken the time to add this peice in and just installed the quarter anyway. http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...IMG_0261-1.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...IMG_0267-1.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0269.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0272.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0274.jpg http://i416.photobucket.com/albums/p...t/IMG_0276.jpg |
Very nice. She's coming along nicely Jay!
|
Looks like things are moving along nicely. I wish I was moving as fast on Nova as you are moving on your Camaro. Is this your garage in the background? If so I'm so jealous. LOL. Keep up the great work!

Hey Jay, Nice car, nice work,? on your replacement metal did you use AMD on all of it? I have heard nice things about AMD. I will be moveing back to NC after the first of the year, and will begin working on my 69, I am planning to do most of the tear down myself to save some clam$, I am impressed on the workmanship of Holohan's Shop, will definatly look him up, Thanks and keep the picks comming.
