What intake are you going to use?

89 RS 06-11-2010 10:52 PM

Valve covers, etc. look good with new paint. Noticed in one of the pics you got different rims for the Nova. (Looks like they might be Corvette rims?)

70TWO NOVA 06-12-2010 09:59 AM

Iam going to use an LS6 intake,
Ive got the black camaro ss wheels for the Nova a while ago, the chrome wheels in the pics were for my Iroc but I decided not to use them.
Thanks for all the comments guys :)

I agree, I think these cars are going to make a comeback soon, considering that most first gens and early second gens are getting harder to find and more expensive to purchase. I hope to see the retro late 70s/early 80s themes become more popular, especially in the PT world. As for the wheels, the ones that are on it are factory so we will probably keep them, at least for a while.

70TWO NOVA 09-23-2010 05:19 PM

Well its been a while since I worked on her so I figured i should get back on it,
Got the front end off today.

I cleaned the frame and firewall up some. Also removed the old SB motor mounts and ground down the frame to accept the new mounts for the LS engine. As soon as the Edelbrock swap headers arrive I should be mocking everything up.

Oh yeah, just to get it all fine tuned and the mounts welded in the correct place. Now we are gonna blow it all apart again and clean and paint everything up nice.

thank you, we will be driving it everywhere im sure, Pavillions, Goodguys and all the local cruise nights :)

vannatta20 10-19-2010 07:58 AM

Dont forget to measure your drivetrain angle. I think the tranny needs to be at -1 to -3. Do you need a poly tranny mount? My dad has an extra. Remember all the issues I had using rubbers. My stock LS1 ripped them in half. You should really change them.
