Sweet Ride

Just got back from a trip to Vancouver and had a chance to drop in at Speed Tech and checked out RedZed in person! WOW!!!!:hail:

The stance and the wheels are bang on and the colour is amazing, Roger took me for a spin and it is very impressive, the car is tight and brakes well, and comes in and out corners holding a line and we weren't out for a Sunday drive. We were moving pretty good :unibrow: . The torque arm provides great ride quality and I am very happy that I have selected the track time package for my car.

Thanks for an awesome experience.

Blake---that is pure art man---love the single stripe and the wheel combo---is that ride height or photo ride height? How big is the tire up front? Where did the side view mirrors come from---and lastly--will it be at SEMA?

Hey Guys. Thanks for the comments. In case you were wondering what the car looked like back in 1986, when I was in grade 11, 1 year after I bought it, here you go. Yes that was me behind that playboy air freshener
The ride height in the photo's is my driving ride height. We had 3 of us in the car with some pretty hard cornering and launches and over speed bumps with no rubbing or dinging of the exhaust. Overall, I am very happy with the results and just want to get out and drive! :D

Rybar 07-14-2010 02:33 PM

Nice car Roger. I remember your car in its previous build. Did you guys have to do any more work than a standard mini-tub to fit the 20x12s?

I'm good friends with Sandro. He has told me alot about your car.

nvr2fst 07-14-2010 03:39 PM

Bad A#! car Rodger.
Are we to consider this an official Speed Tech test car :unibrow:

but hey i guess 600 hp is 600 hp don't matter how you measure it, unless it is the length of the rubber on the road

LOL perfect offset is right. Hey you guys need to finish his subframe first. :P He keeps asking me about a Speedtech TQ-arm kit for his second gen. I keep telling him to do it. I did consider it for my car.

cdushane 07-15-2010 07:17 AM

Car looks bad a$$!

Payton King 07-15-2010 07:39 AM

Great looking car!

It turned out very nice.

I think the 3rd gen mirrors are the best I have seen on a 69. How much work to get them on...modify the base?

Who us? :_paranoid Ya I Know. He will have the first second gen Chicane kit out there. It takes time to do it right. The torque arm will be following shortly after. His build should be pretty sick when its done.

We actually left the base a lone and added a contoured base to it. I'm really happy with them as not only do they look good, but you can actually see through them

Here's a great shot that also shows the ground clearance at ride height with the full 3" exhaust.

Thanks a bunch for sharing those!! You must be stoked man---I mean not everyone has a car like this one---it's amazing. Would love to take a ride/drive in it that last weekend of August when it comes out the GG show at Pleasanton. Since you guys are planning on attending, I'm going to make arrangements to drive up for it.

So I have probably put on 300 miles since completion so far and decided to check everything underneath as I noticed an oil leak. It so happens that my "little oil leak" was actually a crack in the metal in the middle of my oil pan!?! Its right around the area that the gussets are welded on the inside of the pan and slowly but surely, it started leaking and covered the underside of the car :willy:
We have a saying at the shop when we run into stuff like this: I LOVE CARS, I LOVE CARS, I LOVE CARS.......
