Easy there Dave. I hear 'Race Car Sheek' is in up in NorCal...

On second thought, there's your next project @ Nick's - cut an inch out of the cowl!

Well, I am reverse-justifying my 4" cowl. It was there when I got the car. :D

But, I have grown to like it, I must say... everyone and their mother runs the 2" cowl these days. :P

I do love this 3" idea... and with that, back to the story of this badass car...

Here is a teaser update until this weekend after I finalize a few plans and loose ends. Car is being fast tracked to debut at GG Columbus and we have to get to Tracy's May 1 so things are going to move very fast from now on.

This is the start of what a Musclerodz wide body treatment looks like on a 67-68. By doing it way I have done the first step, you will not notice the rear is wider unless it is parked next to a stock one. We are also completely reworking the rear lower quarters and lower valance. More to come......

Mike looks killer
Keep the pics coming

Jay Hilliard 01-11-2011 05:15 AM

Looking good! What size rear tire can you run when the quarter is stretched like that?

Ron in SoCal 01-11-2011 07:49 AM

Awesome Mike. I've been picture starved on this one; thought maybe it was going to fly under the radar! The fender stretch (width) looks really good....

Jay Hilliard 01-11-2011 08:30 AM

Awesome, on a 67 too...thanks Mike.

I like how you moved the light also.
It makes it much less noticeable

Thanks, that was the plan so you did not notice it had been moved unless it was parked next to another one.

One of the things I really like about this approach, besides the beauty, is that you can run a wider tire on a wider track. Nothing scientific that I can quote on my part, but I just think it will run better on a track than a more narrow rear. Kinda like the width and stance of an Indy car. Any opinion on that?

Oh and...

13" wheels on a 345 PS2 :unibrow:

Hold your horses Ron! The sooner I finish it, the sooner you get spanked on the auto-x. So your ego might appreciate some delays.

dunnjun 03-12-2011 06:22 PM

The car looks awesome! How big of tire up front?

Well Ron that sounds like quite the throw-down challenge. :unibrow:

Yeah it does. Considering it's from Killer 'Nando (sounds like a guy from the movie Conan or Blazing Saddles but we know better  ), I'll take that challenge. Besides he's the only guy on this site that rivals me in 'late w pics' and project delays. Plus his front end is waaay too heavy w that huffer...

But for that to happen:

- Fernando would have to unload all his show hardware. Winning!
- Fernando would have decide he's actually ready to nick up Mike's beautiful paint job.
- Fernando would have to figure out a way to unload his car off the trailer without scraping his exhaust!

I'll see you both on a track this summer. And not just AutoX, Fernando...:)

(Just don't invite Todd or we're all toast)

KSBRKTRACER 03-12-2011 08:55 PM

If I remember correctly the front tires are 275 /35 / 18 .

Good stuff Ron. I really look forward to seeing both these cars soon! Maybe August for the next Socal event that's brewing? :unibrow:

Sounds right. I would hope they are at least that wide with a 345 rear.
