That is a bad ass car. Heck, Skip and I used to talk about this car via our emails. lol That car does sound nasty and looks nasty as well.
Good luck with the sale. |
Such a phenomenal car....KEEP IT!!!
I can't even dream of building a car this nice, I am thoroughly jealous -John |
John thank you the nice comment's.I am sure that your project is just as nice as mine. The great thing about this site is it seem's to bring the level of craftmanship up on every car here.I see Mark Stielow's car,You see my car,the next guy see's your car and so on and so on.It kind of snow balls. At lateral-g everybody kinda helps everybody. Thank's Scott.

Well I have had a few people inquire. And they need me drop my price so they can aford it.So I am going to take it off the market for now.Kevin and I are going to go to good guys at Lowes motor speedway at the end of the month and beat the hell out of it.It only costs me $200.00 a year to keep it.My son Bryce think's he is going to join the Marines in May instead of going the tech colleage for 2 year's.So I be off the hook there.I will have to just work over time to buy new family room furiture for the wife.Thank you for all the great coment's and word's.Scott.
|
Great car Scott.. Sorry to hear that it didn't sell for your asking price...
If it is taking up space in your shop... Just ship it out my way.. I will store it for you :D |

Delete these forum for sale threads. Put that sucker on ebay with a buy it now price higher then you have it posted for here. You can always come down to your top dollar figure. It'll get tons more veiws by potential buyers. Scan in your mag article and post that, and html post some good pics in the text. The more pics the better.
JMO. |
^^What Mark said.
Good luck. |

Yeah Ebay gives the car alot of exposure globaly to potential buyers (thats were I eventually sold my car privately after auction for much more than the high bid) but, be ready to filter out the scammers. Although, its not that hard and sometimes fun to play along for a little bit! :D
|
I had thought about ebay,A few years ago I put my 03 Honda CR500AF on ebay and almost 100 emails. And the guy that bought it called me on the phone and he never emailed me. Maybe I will work on ebay this weekend.Thank's guy's.
|
Hey guy's a few day's ago someone said I should remove the sticker's,add carpeting & A/C and make the 1/4 window's roll up & down. He said then it would apeal to more buyer's.What do you guy's think.Scott.

I would leave carpet, adding a/c, etc. up to the new owner if they wanted it. There's a good chance they wouldn't want it, and I don't think any money spent here would change the value of the car or make it sell easier. Jody |
Jody, your advice is better than I got form the drag buddy of mine.
|
Me and Jody are pals but I disagree.:unibrow: When I look at your car, I see race car. The mixture of race car and street car is what brings the money for a "Pro Touring" car. The ultimate goal is to make your car mimic a modern sports car. We all know it's impossible to achieve that but close is good enough.
Here's why I feel I'm right. How many guys on Lateral-G are really racing their cars compared to a weekend warrior? 1 out of 20 or greater. Even though I like to race my car, it still spends more time on the street. That means dynamat, carpet, windows that roll up, a heater, radio. I'd certainly exhaust all the regular avenues before I changed the car. You may want to figure out the cost to make those changes and offer it as a contingency of the sale after a large deposit. The only negative is they may not be able to see the outcome. It's like a house that shows like crap, most people don't have much vision. |

don't change a thing...
hey Scott,
my suggestion is to just leave it as is (sticker's make it stand out IMO). put it on ebay unchanged and give it a chance. if you still get no buyers after a few weeks then consider pulling the stickers... btw, if/when you list on ebay make sure you say "stickers can be easily removed if buyer prefers..." good luck! |
Thank's guy's.It's great to be able to get a few differant point's of view's.The car has a vintage air/heat-defrost system, but no radio.I have all the pcs. to install the 1/4 glass & regulator's.I would be willing to discount the price of the car so someone could remove the sticker's,maybe repaint & add, a/c, dyna matt, carpeting, radio if they chose to.I am going to try ebay this next week and see what happen's.Thank's Scott
|
It's a good thought to ponder.... you can do that and open it up to more guys who are street guys and aren't interested in tracking. Whether it's streetable currently or not doesn't matter because in the eyes of many out there it looks like a race car and that may turn them off.
Or leave it as is, be a little patient, and market the crap out of it and find that one guy! I'd love to see it stay just how it is, but maybe that's not the ticket to selling it. Either way, best of luck. |
Yea,I think I will work on an ebay ad and just leave the car the way it is.A smart buyer should be able to see the value of the car as it is. And if they think it needs some added comfort's I will help them w/the install if need be. With a few days work a/c & roll up 1/4 glass could be added. Thank's guy's.
|
Scott---would love to see you keep the car---saw it at Optima last year--it's perfect the way it is for exactly what you built it for. If you have to sell it, then pull off the stickers and make it more street friendly looking---it's really one of the ultimate Pro Touring vehicles around--and I would agree in this case with Todd (can't believe I just said that) --you will have a much larger audience for the car by taking stickers off and making it a street looking PT car. I certainly would try it on EBAY or at the auctions mentioned just the way it is as there may be that one buyer that loves it just like you do and has the same vision. If that doesn't work---go the street friendly look. I need more money laying around--i'd take it just the way it is fosure.
Doug |
Thank's Doug, I think I will try ebay and see if it will get close to what I would like to get out of it.And if it doesn't ????.
|
I am a huge fan of race cars on the street with that 'just off the track' look. Having said that, I think this car will do better on the market sans stickers. The stickers are limiting your audience to those who want a race car AND a Sunoco/Donahue tribute car. I would also make it water tight if not already. If lack of carpet and A/C turns away a buyer on this particular car, it's not the right buyer. Just my opinion.
|
Neil,The car is water tight. The 1/4window's don't leak but water down thru. the brake duct hose would get the rear rotor's wet.I have nice 1/4 glass and roll up track's.Then tube up thur. the floor would need to get cut off then sealed.I could make it a real driveable street camaro real easy,BUT then it's just another camaro.See what ebay does in a few week's.Don't need the money,Just want to finish my next project a liitle sooner.Thank's for your opinion. Scott.

Keep it just the way it is Scott. It was the intention of your build to do this tribute car, why change it. Its listed at a great price, give it time somebody that respects the heritage will appreciate would you built and snatch it from ya.
|
After watching the Optima invitational on speed last night it sure look's awesome on the screen.I think I will leave it as it is and just see what it does on ebay.Maybe I just take my time finishing the 72 camaro and just enjoy the 69 a year longer.
