Greg if your doing the Lakster headers. How about putting an electric cut out, so that way you could have open headers then close them quickly with just a switch. Haven't seen it done before.

Hoping this thread has longer legs than that Renner-centric one. I heard all the panel gap spray he's inhaled turned him into a ghost...a goblin. :(

The napkin rendering really isn't detailed enough for me... so we're working on it. As for your electric cut out idea. NO. :D There'd be no place to hide the hideous things. |
Chad ---
Trust me when I tell ya -- I had to check with myself more than a couple of times... But there's lots of reasons for me to just have them do it. #1 really is -- I don't want to screw it up... a man has to know his limitations. |

really i was just thinking how much your neighbor would like it. |
Bob --
Have you heard that thing fire off thru the exhaust it has now?? It will absolutely drive him (neighbor) to buy a gun and come hunting for me. BUT.... there's always a big butt.... I'll be waiting... :D I'm not doing ANY engineering on this car. I like it because it's SO SIMPLE! And I'm going to keep it that way -- to me -- that's the attraction! No A/C - No P/W - No P/Bs - not even a folding top to store! I love it. A motor - 4 tires - half a body... Pure simplicity. |

Renner who? |

EEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAA Looks like maybe the wheels will be 20's in back and 17's up front. Still working on that. I like that combo - now have to find an appropriate tire. I don't like these cars with skinny sidewalls... that just isn't "right". And we've agreed on capped LAKESTER style headers with out the back exhaust. I think the Imagine Injection I have on the Nomad is too contemporary - even though the owner is a buddy - so I'm thinking of the Inglese 8 stack or a Hilborn. I like the looks of the Inglese unit and the common plenum for vacuum (PCV) is a big plus. I was already told "NO" on the console having a spot for my coffee cup (which never leaves my hand)... I was told I could just buy a bean bag version from Wal-Mart. I like Steve's style! He's not afraid to tell a customer "NO"! :woot: |
Well,
I will be there doing some engineering on one of there cars. I could take pics, or I could just tell its looking good and then just keep you in suspense. |
Greg,
Sorry for a quick thread jack. Can we talk some time about your Imagine Injection? A friend just bought a truck project off of us and wants to put an 8 Stack on a Big Block. I told him about your setup and would like to be able to steer him in the right direction. PM me your number and maybe we can BS sometime. Thanks. Jack over! |

Greg, any updates?

They'll start work on it about the week we're all at SEMA. |

x2 on the Inglese set up. We are running one on a BBC for our Shop Bitch project. Nice stuff !
|
Thanks guys... but you're preaching to the choir -- I already run one of my cars with an Inglese intake (using Imagine Injection TB's).... and I totally "get" the plenum. I took my polished weber intake off (that used lines to a small common plenum for the MAP sensor) -- as soon as I could get my hands on the Inglese unit.
I would never use the Hilborn unit -- that was just Steve's description when I said "I'll run an 8 stack injection unit". |

The problem with the BBC --- is that they have not cast up a new intake with the large common plenum yet.... I hope that is in their plans! It really makes it nice to have lots of vacuum for PCV or power brakes etc. I'm trying to talk one of my buddies into pulling off his intake and modifying the valley area to make a plenum like the SBC intake. We talked to Inglese about them making one. |
True.... we are using the IDA manifold for mock-up but have a one off in the works. Not from Inglese but our machinist. He seems to have the concept and flow numbers down but getting him to actually make time for cut it is another story....
Enough hi-jack.... get SAR to send you update pics ! |

I'm really the most excited about the rear end change and the wheel choice/size ... because that will really make the most difference to me. |
You get rid of the 37 ford project
|
No -- Still have it -- but will sell it now that I have the new 32 Ford.... is my thinking... but I never know what I'm going to do.
|
Good build, Showing some class now ..ha ha
|
No rendering yet?
I thought the 37 was a long hauler type project. Something you and your wife could enjoy to take a road trip in to wine country. She isn't going to want to do it in a 32 ford. |
Fine..... She can just stay home then!
|
I think they're (SAR) ready to start disassembly... and Steve is going to order the rear end... That and the wheels are the two longest "out" parts.

Didnt expect to find you under new member/project Greg, but know I see why.
Great choice of ride. Your shopping list is spot on so far for your intended goals. Like Tracy and Kenny Ive always been a "rodder" at heart. I should have kept my 34. Be watching this one closely due to the fact its on lat G and I dont have to go to 15 other sites to check it out. |
Greg, I've been drooling over these for the past year now, Ya I'm jealous. I like your choice of wheels, absolutely a cool car. Congratulations on the purchase.

I'm a hot rodder... but a hot rodder that likes his performance as in brakes - handling - new tech stuff. So I'll try to upgrade this POS just a bit and get it to be a little more car than it was. The IRS is just to match the front suspension - but should also make it ride nice too... it already has Wilwoods -- and they'll throw you thru the windscreen. As you know - there's no weight to stop! I will use the Inglese 8 stack and the EZ EFI controller. Works great and will get rid of the typical "SBC with a carb"... |

That should look killer in that color Greg. Very nice!
|
It's already that color.... which is why I can't figure out why Bob, who is a designer... so says he... needs to see a color rendering. He's seen the car... now just look at the black and white --- and bingo! Ya got it! If he forgets what color it is... he can stop by the shop on his way home for a quick review.
The exhaust was a big "discussion"... I had one look in mind - they had (sort of) a different version. Guess what? It'll be done my way. Sanderson Lakesters. Although I did tell them they are free to build custom 304 stainless headers as long as they look exactly like that or slightly modified if we agree...:D I'd like a more 'customized' dump and block off... than the usual 3 bolt... but we can whack off the Sanderson version and water jet some new "mo betta" ones.:woot: |

I just don't want to pay him for something I don't need.... I'm the kind that would rather buy parts. :unibrow:

Heres one for ya Greg, similiar build features your looking into. I like your definition of a adult gocart. http://www.picturearchive.co.za/inde...%20-%20fvl%20/
