There are a bunch of orange 2nd gens out there right now. I like the mulsanna blue,or a benz bright silver.I been thinking I am going to need alot more motor than I have now. Mast motor sports sell a 690hp SS427 that might work.I still need to fab a dash & gauge insert, hang some a/c.build a rear package shelf like jack ass has,fab exhaust, mount the steering column, build a fuel tank, mount the gas pedal, fix a few small rust holes & fab a trailer hitch and small 4x4 2 wheeled trailer.I think I will up grade to new ZO6 brakes and sell the Z51 kore 3 setup I have now.And look for a smokin deal on some forgelines.would like to have it ready for paint jan.1,March 1 start assem.  |
this car is turning out awesome but i wouldnt expect anything less from you. lets just hope you keep this one till its done.:D
|
:hail: WOW!, Some how I missed this thread, it looks great Scott. I think your really going to love this camaro when she's done. Speaking of that do you have a name for her yet?

Travis, Thank's. I kinda like the name SCRAPS. I have been building it from leftover's I had laying around, & some part's that I traded for over the last year.I am tying to stay on a budget. But if I sell the LS2 and go w/ more motor that might kill that deal.Just going to keep plugging along.
|
I say go with more motor. I thought going from 500 hp to 620 was going to be intimidating but its just more fun. Only i still dont know what traction is like on 200 tread wear tires.
Benz silver would be cool with black wheels. I've been on this black wheel kick lately. I can see where your headed with this thing and have a feeling it will be seeing alot of events. Go gettem Scott!! |

If I go w/forgeline's Ilike the gunmetal center's w/gloss clear & brushed rim's w/gloss clear and hidden hardare.Going to put some hoosiers R6's on the fikse's.Other than the wheels I want the car to real plain jane.Sleeper like |
I am definitely liking the R6 direction but how are you going to make Optima next year if you run Hoosiers. With the trailor hitch set up I thought you were going to try and hit a couple GG auto-x's and win your way into Optima.
|
Going to be even sweeter when it gets paint, awesome build man.

Well in my last post I was looking to find a good deal on some Forgeline's.Well Frank at Prodigey Custom's steped up and gave me a smokin good deal on some Forgeline's and a set of wilwood brake's.Here's a sneak peak at one of the wheels. Will unpack the rest and get the BFG's mounted tomorrow. And post up photo's of everything tomorrow.I would still sell this project if the right buyer comes along. But if not it will be full steam ahead to get it finished by April.
|
Nice wheel.
Forgeline makes a killer wheel. |
Scott, this thing is looking great. I hope things are going well.
|
Car looks awesome Scott! Nice job on the bay bars and subframe.
|
Camaro is looking good! What color is it going to be?
|
Thank's guys.I am working on the dash install right now. Will post some photo's of the new forgeline's installed tonight.Color choice has me stumped. If I keep it I want a color that folks are not using alot of.Maybe satarn yellow w/satin black Dale jr style stripe,or astro blue like the DSE's 70 test camaro.I might let the wife pick the color.
|
So pink it is?:theresa:

You could mix 'em, like a 2nd gen Sunoco Camaro
|
Sunoco camaro's get to much atention when take them out in public.I need something will fly under the radar.I might go w/my orignal color choice PPG mineral gray.
|
Then make it look like this:
http://blogs.discovery.com/photos/un...tealth_600.jpg or buy a Chevy Aveo  Seriously, some dark shade of gray would look cool, or silver with black stripes, dunno, something simple, and dark, but Iżm not sure what paint scheme are you looking for, plain, striped maybe? |
Woah... just stumbling across this now...
CoolWelder62... I met you when you where leaving DSE to go sell the Sunoco Camaro... I was that guy in the G8 saying "hey i saw this car on lat-g, or pro-touring.com" Car is looking good - finally glad I saw this! |
Thank's,It was great meeting you and everyone else that weekend. My son Kevin who you met would like to have a G8.He was asking the other day if those are offered in a std. transmission or auto only.Scott
