The truck I posted prior pics of is now on road driving but still needs paint.
Simply did not have the funds for a custom chassis so just bought a new F150 chassis from ford with closest W.B. to stock truck. Had to paint it as looked pretty rough straight from dealer. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ps62b70ffb.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ps909ee522.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...pse7f99a3f.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psbba14aa0.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ps16d37af3.jpg Bought a new 9 3/4" Housing from Ford and all small parts. (Cheaper than a used junk yard one) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...pse2dbae98.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ps105ac71e.jpg It has large stock brakes front and rear. Good to stop a 4200 lb truck. Fronts are 14" forget rears now as too long ago . . LOL http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...pse82c9411.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...pse8b6e930.jpg |
Of course needed to add a limited slip.
Running a 3.15 Gear. Great for a Turbo truck with a low 1st gear. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ps15d87fd6.jpg Time to drop in the engine/trans combo http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psf23a4f78.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ps04736767.jpg Rolling Chassis Done http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ps157936d3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...pse638c00f.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psc450c67d.jpg I would think it should be emissions legal in all 50 States. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psdb81a43d.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psce05d91d.jpg |
Had to build my own custom Intercooler and all tubing
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...B7D92AD38A.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/DSC04434.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r/DSC04437.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...0BF0504A50.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...330913871F.jpg |
Mounting the cab on chassis was a huge chore because I chose to lower cab down over the chassis.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ps6394c7d7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ps0f5d8f2f.jpg It took days/wks just to find proper location for cab on chassis http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psbca19576.jpg Of course then fitting box to new chassis was also a huge job http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...ps9fa04c95.jpg Decided to make attempt at installing the new F150 floor and firewall into the '66 Cab http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psb511ce17.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...psaf69ce36.jpg Along with the new dash. Because of all the electronics they simply would not fit in the tiny '66 dash http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...g/IMG_7585.jpg Bought a new 4 post hoist to help with my builds. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...g/DSC04091.jpg |
Of course it would not fit thru door as promised. So they left me to chop it apart so it would . .
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...CFCD8DA02B.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...AB0B0353EA.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...9F360D30E1.jpg After a slight modification to new firewall corners it fit in the '66 Cab! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...46BDB72F98.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...93A73E29BA.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...AA2F747001.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...0AF18A9A14.jpg |
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...b/DSC01234.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...b/DSC01235.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...b/DSC01243.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...b/DSC01245.jpg I had to widen the back of cab to fit the new chassis. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...22176FF872.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...4C94E9FEE5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6123C43F9B.jpg At this time I dug a hole to bury it in . . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...e21462bb95.jpg |
Not quite got to point of burying it but was close a few times . .
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...66A835951C.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...B1567C28F1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...b/IMG_6871.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...b/IMG_6875.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...b/IMG_6877.jpg |
Then came getting the box to fit . .
Of course I knew ahead of time there was 3" diff between the new chassis and '66 Chassis in W.B. I cut floor out of '66 box and installed one from a 2013 and raised it 6" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...x/DSC01570.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...DSC01571-1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...x/DSC01567.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...x/DSC01579.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...x/DSC01578.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...x/DSC01837.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...6214ACB146.jpg |
I removed front box panel and shortened box in front for proper wheel alignment.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...B9E0ECFC7C.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...3E5F727492.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...E3CB0CB408.jpg Bought some new wheel tubs for a early bronco as same as F series http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...DF245C2E78.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...B6A1EF94A3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...1894E90888.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...B1D36D7475.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...4D0C80102E.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...EAAE69EE12.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...004F611AE7.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...DF362A9F92.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...B6E9301924.jpg |

Here is where I am currently at. Just driving and tuning. Enjoying . . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...A8B3248BF8.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...5C353476BC.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...0ED5DB8707.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...7C089910A5.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...404B06A19D.jpg |

Like I did not have enough to do already. Started yet another 1966 Truck project . . This time a 1966 F250 Ranger. (Ultra rare factory bucket seats)
This truck is getting a 2015 3.5 EcoBoost and a 6R80 6 spd auto. Its from a 4x4 prototype truck. It was all donated so could not resist . . Low enough miles it had not had its first oil change yet. This truck will be the sleeper hot/rod of the bunch and a slow progression of upgrades. Total stock appearing interior and exterior except for a custom gauge package to work with the late model engine/trans http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...DBFEC5BA_1.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...08607C7757.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...3732B0E555.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...9F65535817.jpg |
Wow, you've got serious fabricating skills
Nice work, really enjoyed reading through all your posts. Keep updates coming please.

I finished Eco1 project except paint. Put on 11,000 miles in 2017 then sold it late in year to allow me to finish other projects. Far too many things to do for a old fart but here is a current one. 540" Twin Turbo Boss9 for another truck project. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...EB15F1C3D9.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...4A3190C9DF.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...9ED5C2C996.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...910284D15E.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...63AACFF3C4.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...A419A7EB4B.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...495638EEA2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...1B09B4CFD9.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...4188BB8A92.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...FC3D477AC6.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...14F2693CFE.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...2BA8E9E2CC.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...4001DBB8A8.jpg |

Cool build, that looks like a lot of motor, perhaps boxing the chassis would have added some much needed strength.....
|
Going to be a nice truck
|
Quote:
Eco1 I did have a fully boxed chassis but it was all late model stuff My other Current engine build of 1500+ HP I will for sure need a more stout chassis . . but it too will be a daily driver. |

After 45+yrs I can then hang up the tool belt . . |
Nice work... I just noticed that you are in Phoenix as well, what part of the city are you from? We are building our new home and shop in North Peoria near Happy Valley and 78th Ave.
