Ha ha so does the owner he is originally frome Oregon about 50 miles from where the car was found.

Nice progress so far. The rendering is pretty cool though I'm personally not totally in love with the hood or grill, but maybe they'll look better once fabbed up. It's at least cool to see someone doing something about the ugly front of a 69 lol.

BBT FAB 12-11-2010 01:14 PM

Got a pretty good start on the hood...

It's good to know that I'm not the only one who likes 67-68 front bumper on 69, I've been wanting to do this to my 69 Firebird eversince I got it,just a bit more agressive airdam. Great job so far:thumbsup:

MSTSFabbed 12-11-2010 04:30 PM

One question- whats the blue in the pic where its being sanded down? Dykem? Are you using is as a guide coat?

Thanks! Can't wait to see more!

There will be a hexagon mesh peice that will go in the grill opening and around the headlights....going to probably have it water jeted from .500 plastic so its like a modern day car mesh.

That's some very nice work Troy.

Jimmy Sean 12-16-2010 08:51 AM

Looks great! the best 69 front end I've seen so far. Are those Challenger headlights?

Nice that your customer wants to take some styling risks.

Northeast Rod Run 12-16-2010 06:46 PM

To me, the way that nose piece meets up with the front of the fenders, just makes the whole car. ALMOST doesn't even matter how the rest of the car comes out after seeing that

BBT FAB 12-19-2010 09:15 AM

got a few things done... shaved drip rails and cowl vents, finished mating valance to grill shell and built some air ducts.

Troy & the boys are top notch! My car is going to Champaign soon!

this car is gonna be so cool. Love it so far, and that front end kicks ass.

bonecrrusher 12-24-2010 03:35 PM

What kind of front hub is that? It looks like the wheel attaches to a 5 bolt spindle with a giant nut - kind of ALMS racing style....

The only place that I know of who makes it, is Forgeline. Here link to those hubs: http://www.forgeline.com/products/ce...ock-conversion

WILWAXU 12-24-2010 04:51 PM

Great looking build!

BBT FAB 12-24-2010 07:55 PM

Yes they are Forgeline ZX3P wheels with the center lock option.

I've got a question from post #63? Did you guys make the piece completely that attaches under the nose or did you guys just make the fiberglass pieces that you inserted into it? That piece looks great on the nose!!

fleet 12-28-2010 09:00 AM

Troy,

On the home page of your website I saw one pic of what looks to be a 55-56 Ford. What's the story with that build?

syborg tt 12-28-2010 09:15 AM

Car looks awesome and I love the front end

ps Troy were you at Rad Rides last week

The top 2-3 inches of that valance we made the lower is factory firebird.

What were you wanting to know about it? We did some chassis work on the car and some exterior metal work. Hoping it comes back this spring to finish up the metal work. The owner had to stop on it for a while due to personal issues.
