That's the kind of tool I want!

Where did the tri-y headers come from?

I had some Huffacker Engineering one's for my car that wouldn't clear the stearing box as is. Looking back I regrete selling them.

How much power do you hope to gain from the intake?

Won't know for sure because the engine was dyno'ed at Mast Motorsports with out Jakes intake. I'll be getting a chassis dyne tune when I get back home. I'll post up the sheet when it's done.

Thank you!! It's hard to say right now...... as soon as the weather breaks here I'll take them both for a ride and see for sure. The ls is def more friendly to drive but the 496 pull's great up top!!

Jake, your post is a reminder of how important indoor air quality is for those who spend time in a automotive shop this time of year.

Enjoyed the pics... awesome build.

Vegas69 02-04-2011 07:20 AM

My kind of build, all business and done very well.

Tom.A 02-04-2011 08:09 AM

Jake, That is awesome build. Tell Vinny to throw you an extra tip and buy a better camera :D . We need some better pictures. Is that a steam line connected to your catch can?

68protouring454 02-04-2011 08:24 AM

its a 16 mp canon slr, just done quickly and in reg shop lighting also resized
yes thats connected to the catch can, the radiator is a c/r with built in oil cooler and no fill neck, so the catch can is the reservoir as well

Gotcha. I guess I forget you are likely under a blanket of snow this time of year so no outside shots. I look forward to seeing more

Rybar 02-04-2011 10:36 AM

Looks real good Jake. The pics do look like cell phone quality, maybe post some better quality shots.

Pleasure is all mine, thanks for the inspiration.

What tires do you typically run and what is the life expectancy?

syborg tt 02-04-2011 06:46 PM

I have Hoosier R6's on it now. Only have one track day on them. They are great. Don't think they'll last to long though. I'm getting another set of wheels to put ps2's on for the street and PT events.

How many track days will do you expect from a set of tires? What is your "home" track and what's your favorite track? Cant' wait for some track day video!

tones2SS 02-05-2011 01:22 PM

Looks great. Love the layout of everything in the cockpit.

I think I can 6-8 track days out of a set of R6's. Hopefully more! My home track is NJMP in Millville NJ they have 2 tracks there,Lightning and Thunderbolt. I like Lightning better. I'll be there April 2nd. can't wait!! I just got a go pro HD so I'll get video!!!

Better tire wear estimate than I expected. Glad to hear you've got a TD Fix scheduled, I'll bet you're chomping a the bit to get her on the track. I've got a fix coming Sunday at Fontana with KTM.

With the GoPro suction cup mount you can use one of the adhesive plates and a mounting arm attached as an anchor for a tether line. The GoPro's are also great for monitoring suspension travel, check out your wheel-well and undercarriage mounting options. Also use it to monitor your foot and upper body to improve technique. Rearward facing footage can be a useful learning tool for covering lines and seeing where you're giving up time in sections.........and it gives a looks fast perspective. :unibrow: Here's one from ORP on my little 690 single with a buddy following on his 690: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obHins69HoI excuse the audio, it's from the old non-HD camera.

Congrats on an awesome car, I'm really looking forward to your video and audio!
