Wheres the beef? Its right here....285's & 345's. I built a jig to measure offset and position the tires where I want them. Tires will be mounted tomorrow, at the local Ferrari dealership of all places...Ill get some more pics once it rolls on new rubber. Next step it to wire the car, slow and painful!

The KumhoXS is a great trackday tire . I run them on my C4 . They are like hockey pucks in cold weather though . Very predictable break away point .

What did you come up with for wheel size/offset?
Man...I can't wait for the shoes on the ground shots. By the way, you know you can lower and raise the vehicle with the jam nuts on the end of the springs front and rear to get the right stance. Roll it around a bit and let it settle before you take those pics...LOW AND MEAN baby! Here is a shot of my old 69 on some of the most recent modification work to it - notice how low it is..... http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t...R/IMAG0826.jpg |
69MyWay... are you Kaos on CorvetteForum?
I saw this car on the SE section of that messageboard..... |

Chris, the sizes are:
Front - 17x9.5 5"offset Rear - 17x11 5" offset I didnt have time to roll it around tonight and Ill play with the stance later. I wanted to get these on before dark tonight and make sure everything fit. The rears ended up perfect! I was kind of conservative in the front but I know it wont rub or have any issues. Let me know what you think. I cant wait to get some chrome on the car, especially the roll bar. It should really bring the car together at that point. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...I/IMAG0314.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...I/IMAG0321.jpg |
Love it!

I got some goodies in the mail. My keyless system from AdvancedKeys.com is pretty slick. You carry an active proxcard in your wallet. When you approach the car it will unlock itself and allow the ignition to be armed. Push the botton to start, system will crank the engine for you, another push and its off. Walk away and the car will lock itself. You never have to use a key and its more secure than a modern OEM system. If you notice, the door locks have been shaved in anticipation of this feature.
The other package was the new VHX gauge system from Dakota Digital. A completely modern look with integrated gauges, turn signal & high beam indicators, digital readout, and a central gauge input module with info being relayed to the gauges via eithernet cable to minimize wiring and complexity. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...I/IMAG0375.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...I/IMAG0371.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...I/IMAG0364.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...I/IMAG0362.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...I/IMAG0361.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...I/IMAG0331.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...I/IMAG0335.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...I/IMAG0347.jpg and the shop dog... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...I/IMAG0354.jpg |
Looking good, love the sidepipes and wheels.

Awesome!

Hey Werks/Killer II
That is looking AWESOME!!! I really like the deep redish color interior contrast against the black paint. Those gauges came out great. What are the plans for the center console where the other guages use to be? Kaos is coming to life. It is back here in Miami as of last week where I am finishing up a few last items here & there with hopes by the end of August it will be officially done except for some new wheels which will be ready in about a month's time. Keep up the great work. I keep telling myself it will be all worth the wait in the end. |
Very cool. I look forward to seeing it on Woodward...what day(s) you going?
John |
Likely to draw some attention. ;)

Thanks guys! I've had a few set backs (cracked the new windshield is one) recently but trying not to get discouraged. I praying for an uneventful run to Woodward!

Looks great!!! What's remaining? Any more pics of the interior?
I just realized you have the chrome trim around the windshield painted black!!! Hmm...give me something to seriously consider on the original Killer/Kaos as it is all blacked out now and I think this would look great having the trim black around the windshield. |

Painting the trim black isn't a bad idea! I havent installed mine yet which is why it looks black. I still have the standard stainless. Powder coat perhaps? I have a few finishing touches that are yet to come as well. I need to finish a side project first and then ill be back on this one. |
Love it!!!
|
Cool. I am going go for it painting or powder coating the windshield trim black. It will give it a quiet different look.
Keep up the great progress!! |

What was once chrome or polished aluminum is now all powder coated shinny black to blend in with the theme of my ride. Thanks Killer II for the idea. Also had the trim along the top door edge and little stayfast caps on the top powder coated black.
