Looks great. Every time i see a red, like the Cinnamon with the reddish/ copperish flake/ pearl, I see the trim being nickle plated with a light black anodize add to it...

GregWeld 04-05-2011 08:22 PM

Glad he chose the red! Awesome!

Now..... Is it done yet?

:D

Cris@JCG 04-06-2011 01:52 PM

I like the red on the car!

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/...tang1_red2.jpg

But I think it looks good in yellow also! Establishing ride height.. off to media blasting.. load on jig & start the cutting!

Looking great! Love the Red.

Cris@JCG 05-05-2011 07:07 PM

Got the Mustang back late last week from media blasting.. The shell looks in good shape.. few rusted areas with replacement pcs on it.. Set it on the frame table today & is pretty level & square.. DSE has the front suspension on its way.. rear suspension is on the shelf.. Start hacking away next week!

waynieZ 05-05-2011 09:09 PM

I'll agree it looks in nice shape. Pretty interesting line of cars right there. The red's going to be killer on this car.

mrgm 05-06-2011 11:50 AM

great start to a really nice project. You going with the standard 5.0 or the boss 5.0 they just threw in the parts catalog?

Cris@JCG 05-06-2011 12:36 PM

This stub is something new that DSE just came out with.. I have known about it for sometime.. & when I got the opportunity to do this Mustang.. I knew this would be a great starting point to up grade the front suspension..

I'll let Cris elaborate since he is I believe the first with this clip, but that sub/stub is universal and in DSE's new catalog in two different track widths. I'm considering one for my Challenger I'm building. I want to see what how Cris is mounting/grafting this into the stock frame rails before I pull the trigger on it since the Mustang is VERY close to a Mopar on the frame rails. I do wish DSE would build it with longer rails though to allow a "graft" to the stock rails. I need to call them about that.

Thanks Cris!!! Great build and can't wait to see more!

Wes

scottysimp7 05-08-2011 05:04 PM

Cris@JCG 05-09-2011 08:15 AM

Looking forward to this build also.. I have been following your work.. I really enjoyed watching that Chevelle you built when it was @ SEMA.. plus that Firebird with the RS Fast track chassis  .. The Mustang is going to be one awesome build..

Wes- I believe I did get one of the first stubs! Your information is correct.. DSE will offer this stub in two different track widths..

http://i1015.photobucket.com/albums/.../DSEstub-2.jpg

I will not be grafting this stub to the original structure.. I am building a whole new one with firewall & chassis to tie into the back.. with new floors.. but if I can help with any info. to help with yours.. Just PM me!

Yeah! A buddy of mine let me borrow his 2007 Shelby to help with some the layout for the floor & firewall.. Got design work going now & will be fabricating the firewall, floor, & chassis in the next few weeks..

Coming along. So how do you feel about cutting up a nice car? You might as well take the rest out....won't need those rear rails either.

tones2SS 06-01-2011 05:48 PM

Great photos Cris. Looks like she's moving right along.
Keep us posted.

GregWeld 06-01-2011 05:51 PM

Shoulda just started by fabbing up some rear quarters..... It's like WTF is left?!
:unibrow:

Looks "fun" Cris!

Cris@JCG 06-02-2011 09:19 AM

That is what I get for taking your advise! cut it all up & start with a blank canvas! As for cutting up the rear section.. I got one request from the owner.. orignal fold down rear seat..

BTW- Did you finally figure out how to use your scaner? Waiting for the template for the remote shock covers!

You know Cris, that's really not a bad idea. Those 'stangs are perfect for a JCG fat bottom....:justdoit:
