Best looking Rig at the Colorado Nats! I left my camera at home this year figuring that I'd seen it all and my cargo short pockets were full enough slipping into the sparco seats in my C6Z.

I was wrong. The rig looked great and your young helper answered questions very well on your new tri-5 chassis I was eye balling for my 57 Nomad. If I knew you were there I would have stuck around.

Have a great end to the show today ( sunday) and a safe trip back. I'll be in touch:thumbsup:

Well the guys with white legs was Brycen's Dad. he came out to drive the truck out to the first show. He has been driving for like 30 years.

Yes Brycen knows his stuff. He has been around helping us build these for a while also.

We may have met also, I remember a guy talking about a chassis for nomad on Saturday afternoon, That Brycen said had been around a few times looking over our frames.

If I could have worked out sometime I would have given you a ride in the Giveaway Car. We drove that car all over Loveland this weekend, Even to Lowes for some extension cords.

And finally a picture from Sunday afternoon. I may never get to travel in this mode of transport again. But let me tell you about how much of a time saver this is. We met at my shop on Thursday at 5:30am, we drove around the corner from my shop to a back gate at the airport. We were in the air just before 6am. We landed in Loveland at just a little after 8 am. Since Loveland is a small airport, all commercial planes have to land in Denver, Over an hour away. We were at the show for set up at 8:45. Usually I'm already exhausted when you have traveled for hours just to get somewhere.

Then on Sunday, We began booth tear down at 3pm, we were done and on and at the airport at 4:20. We were in the air at 4:30. We landed at just before 6pm and I was home at about 6:10. Even on at close to home show like Pleasanton I'm not home till at least 10pm.

I just want to publicly thank my customer for the fun time hanging out this this weekend and also Thank them for the help in the booth this weekend. Plus allowing us to use what seems like a time transport to get to and from. Thanks again I hope you guys had a nice weekend getaway.

Ricochet 06-06-2011 07:36 AM

Good times Rodger! Glad to hear the weekend was a success and you had better weather than we had here!

The weather was pretty much perfect until 3pm Sunday, when we had to tear down at 5000 ft elevation and temp was 92 degrees. but it was t-shirt and short weather all weekend. And 3rd place in the auto cross is not bad for my first try at peanut autocrossing.

Ok enough of the airplanes!!

Just cause the sites name is Lateral-G dosen't mean you have to keep posting airplane pics :woot:

Pretty cool to see you flying like "PIMP"

It was good to meet people in Colorado! We are just getting back on the road in nephi Utah after driving 540 miles last night til about 3 am. just had denny's now merging on I-15 toward Vegas! Be home about 9 tonight!

I was pretty proud of myself running the shop camaro a few times when Rodger took a break. It was my first time ever driving it other than on and off of the trailer and my fastest time was only a second and 3 tenths behind the winner which was a 30.9 mine was 32.2

ironworks 06-07-2011 12:23 PM

Here are a few pics of the new truck set up at the show.

We should have our "NEW" awning at Columbus.

Ricochet 06-07-2011 02:18 PM

Sweet set up Rodger! What is wrong with the awning? Let me guess? Color? Going Black?

What was Rodgers best time?
Rodger's been slacking on iracing. He probably is rusty behind the wheel, now that he has chauffeurs and pilots flying him around.

My time was 31.9 I got 3rd place over all I think. I know it was 3rd place in the vendors.

I have not been on I racing in months. I have not had time to even get cable TV set up yet. Just way to busy. I guess I could rent you my high dollar pedals for a few months.

Yeah you say that, But it never seems to work out that way.

I bet when I come out of retirement I will smoke you still. Maybe not in the Girl car you like to drive. But I guarantee in the prototype and C6R I will smoke your ass just like the good ol days.

c10addict 06-07-2011 05:39 PM

I heard "The Roadster Shop" boys are flying in to Columbus in the Stealth Bomber.. Might have to step it up Rog!

GregWeld 06-07-2011 05:54 PM

Maker sure the new awning has the Ironworks logo on it -- I noticed right off the bat from the pics - you can't tell what company is on display vs the other side of the truck that's screaming the name like it should!

What a baller.... big azz ballin' 18 wheeler - Citation jets... trick cars... If only I was taller I'd be a baller...

Thats fine. Cuz the plane we are taking to Columbus I'm not even allowed to talk about, It's that top secret.

Thanks for blowing our grand entrance a-hole!

Wait until you see our new display, we are laying the truck and trailer over on its side to show off all the work we have done underneath it. (Kendal is driving for us, so getting it tipped over should be pretty easy... just gotta make sure all the turkeys are gone by the time the show opens!)

Roadster Shop 06-07-2011 07:26 PM

I gotta say, pretty impressive Rodger.. 2,500 views on a thread about you going to a car show. Most can't get that many on a car build thread!:D

Nice looking rig though. That thing should make a big impact at the shows and be a whole lot nicer to drive than a dually with a trailer. You got in at the perfect time with the fuel prices too!
