Track Junky 08-10-2011 03:24 PM

Nick, if your heading down for just Sunday keep in mind its at least a 4 hour drive one way. I dont know about you but I couldn't handle driving 8 hours back and forth in one day.

I'm probably camping out at the track Saturday night because I know i will have a few cool ones after the event and definitely dont think I'll be in any condition to get behind the wheel to drive back to the Motel.

Thinking about setting up a sleeping bag in one of the corner workers towers

Tom.A 08-10-2011 11:08 PM

I have to pull out also. I was only signed up for Sunday but I get back home late Saturday. I feel like a knuckle head because I thought I was signing up to run at Willow Springs not ---> Button Willow:rofl: A four drive vs. a 2 hour. Have fun guy's oh and FYI if you cancel it cost you $49.00:_paranoid

Finish by 5pm give or take. Plus half the fun of this trip is everyone staying at the Motel 6 and socializing Fri and Sat nights. Still hope you can figure something out!

I would not bring the Chevelle just bomb down in my truck or another car so i can watch and hang out. Sounds alittle crazy but I make day trips to Bako all the time to pick up parts so I am used to the drive leaving in the AM and sometimes I have to be back at the shop to make shipping by 5pm with product I bring back so the drive and hanging out for the day is not a big deal and if I plan it right I should get a couple guys with me to split the driving if we need to.

So are you guys saying non of you are worth the drive to check out your cars and drivin in action??????

Wife's headed to Oregon for a business trip the 6th through the 8th so I have to stay home and watch the kids.

Had a buddy of mine call me yesterday about going on the 7th also and my wife overheard me saying "Maybe I can get one of the neighbors to watch the kids for me" and she about bit my head off so unfortunately the 7th with NCRC at Thunderhill is a definite no-no. :(

Does Dave have more pull or how can he do something different?

Do you know Dave personally.

Flash68 08-31-2011 10:15 AM

I don't know him personally no. Gaetano knows him by now though.

I'm basing it on my dialogue with him a couple months ago when "negotiating" for my run group placement. He was responsive, flexible and reasonable with me so I just thought it wouldn't hurt to email him. I believe Gwen is his admin?

So, no, it would not be calling in a favor from a friend. :woot:

I've spent more than a few times on the phone with Dave and have been to his house once cause he lives near by. If you want me to try and call in a favor, if it goes through it will cost you a 30 pack of Bud Light cans. Thers on sale these days for about 18 bucks.(sometimes $16)

If your car is race prepped and you have a race suit you could probably run race group. I've already talked to him about it but I'm not shelling out for a suit because this may be my last track day for awhile.

If you come up with a suit for me I'll give you my open spot and I'll run race. Needs to be a washed suit.(Dont want to be wearing someone elses stank)

I have a suit. I'm sure it will fit. But more then likely it is a little big.
I hope White, Red and Black match for you.

LOL, cool looking suit but are cart suits legal for road course?

I'm 5'8" & 185lbs.

clill 08-31-2011 07:16 PM

I'm going to run at Thunderhill with NCRC on the 7th.

Thats what I thought. That being the case either someone gotta come up with a suit for me to borrow and in the mean time I'll give Dave Mills a call tomorrow if I get time.

One of my renters is pissing and moaning about some sort of plumbing issue and I was in no shape to check it today.

OK, like I said, if I dont have a suit I cant run race and it doesn't look like any one is coming up with one so I can try and call in a favor.

Roger, what group do you want to run in? Oh, and I need your last name.

Track Junky 09-01-2011 08:55 AM

Rodger, I talked to Dave and he told me you didn't list enough track time in your application to take my open spot so a race to open swap is not an option.

Gonna have to find someone in our group to sell you there point by spot.

Sorry bro, I tried :(

ironworks 09-02-2011 09:41 AM

I guess I better load up the Go Karts that day in the hauler. Just in case.

Check with Carl C. I think one of his buddies is opting out of point by on Sunday and is selling his spot.

Couldn't sleep so I thought I'd post a couple pics from Butttonwillow last September.

Do you have another email for Dave as this one does not seem to work?

I am out. Ironworks Rodger is taking my Saturday spot so that's cool.

If anyone wants my Sunday spot please let me know ASAP - I'll give you a screaming deal on it. It is for Solo group and if you've been on a track before you should be ok.

Have fun boys and keep em on the track.

Track Junky 09-15-2011 01:26 PM

Sorry to hear Dave, hope you feel better soon.

What about the garage space?

Thanks man.... I cancelled the garage for both days and got my $ back. If you or anyone wants it, just call the track directly.

Run em hard!
