I agree with the other posts. Every person on here can post whatever they feel at any time. It's real easy to hit the delete button in email -- or scroll down thru whatever it is you don't feel like reading. Seriously - it doesn't take very long... Not everyone can type fast and some keep their posts short and to the point... I tend to ramble. I type fast and have the time to post as if though we were chatting in the garage. I'm 200% certain there are people on here that wish I'd go away... and there are people on here I'd like to have go away... (well, not really :D ) but it's a group and you conduct yourself (posting) just as you would in a group of people meeting face to face. Some guys just don't talk much... and others (me  ) never shut up. It's all good in my book.
I mostly agree with the comments about posting "positive" and constructive comments. It makes for a far nicer community. Which is the very reason I hang here and not at other forums. :lateral:  |

No pardon here, wtf learn to spell or at least use spell check  I'm one who cant spell worth a crap and when it comes down to putting my thoughts on paper ( typed out ) lets just say I'm lucky you'all can make heads or tails of it. Love the site, great people, great info, great cars. |
Wow!! Didn't think I was going to hit such a soft spot, lol.
Should I duck, look for cover , and run? Just kidding. I think some of you guys get what I'm saying and your right, to each his own. Just my personal opinion and also why I dont add to someones project update when I like what I see. How many "Golly Jed, that looks great" do we need to see after 9 before you have already mentioned the same thing. I'm not disgruntled, lol, just voicing my opinion AND WE ALL KNOW WHAT OPINIONS ARE LIKE. PEACE :lateral:  |

I'm not trying to kiss anybody's hind-end, but this site is a great site that provides me with stress relief, knowledge, and input from fellow people who share the same passion for automobiles/muscle cars. I belong to several other forums that require background checks, employment verification, etc.(My line of work forums), and I have to say that considering this site is open to the public and pretty much anybody can get on here, the level of character and maturity meets and often exceeds a lot of forums available. It's people on here whom I've asked questions and they didn't hesitate to help me out by explaining something that I didn't completely understand without belittling me. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and that's cool. Just remember, it doesn't cost anything extra to be nice.

I would have reservations about this. I think it can work but I see a few issues that can develop. I’ve watched people’s personalities change when they begin to have input on a forum. Also, with more people involved, more agendas and leverage to gain influence can develop. If things aren’t working out, how do you thin the group without developing hard feelings? Maybe short term committees could be used to address certain issues, but a permanent sub forum can create a division of sorts especially if it’s not public and then others find out. Readership changes over time and people tend to come and go, however limiting influence to a smaller group can also be an issue if this is not recognized. Overall, I feel that the more regular members can see and become involved in a forum the more they can feel that they are a part of it. Limiting membership input and/or censoring is something that has to be done, but IMO there is a balance that needs to be maintained to meet everyone's needs. |

To the OP: You can't stop people from posting; all the mods can do is police what has already happened. And, I think they've done a fantastic job at handling issues that come up.

What are you building? Or, what do you have that you want to build? I am scrounging any where I can trying to find deals on used parts. But if I have something that would help your project along some how, I would send it. What do you need? And dont say cash.......cuz I don't have any.......:D Edit: I'm really not sure if you are serious or being a smartass considering the subjects in this thread. If you are serious then I will help if I can, somehow. I have had a ton of support from friends on this site (moral and emotional not to mention my recent engine deal) It's the least I can do to try and "pay it forward". But if you are serious, I have to say I think you may find better ways to seek sponsors. If you're just being a smartass, well I guess I fell for it. |

Got a nice sunburn on my neck, face and head. |
This is a great place. I was very active for years, then got busy doing other things still browsing but not posting. After almost 2 years of being inactive, I came back and was welcomed with open arms. I enjoy reading all the build threads and lots of great information in all topic sections. Every once in a while there will be some disagreements, but everyone has their own opinions and sometimes things get out of hand, that's why we have mods, they give everyone enough rope and then step in. After all, just look at all the bad things that go on in the world everyday, here we get away from the everyday bs and talk cars, for me it's relaxing.. Personally, I have met a bunch of great people here and look forward to being here for a long time.

Can I come and join the tour as well! :unibrow: |
i was basically threatend off the site via PM for disagreeing with an admin.
"People of all incomes, jobs, type get out to track all across the US to track their cars and have a good time." it warranted this response from an admin: Quote:

I seriously doubt you got that warning from the mod based on that one sentence.

your truth, my truth, the truth...
Generally that's how life works.. Can we have that group hug now?? |
This is the second time Steve has asked for a group hug. Either he has just recieved his medical marijuana card or maybe is still feeling the effects of some ex at a rave party. Do you think maybe some of you southern cal boys can run to Steve's house and give him a hug already? :D
Just kidding Steve, peace :_paranoid Quote:

Since you felt it was necessary to post a year old private message in public, manufacture a lie about the intent of that PM I sent in an effort to make me look bad, lets revisit it... Over a year ago, you were riding people constantly about how you think someone else should be driving their car. You were doing it so much and were being so obnoxious about it that I was getting PM's and e-mails complaining about you. Up until that PM that I sent you (and you kept for over a year then posted it here in this thread), I was being nice, politely asking you to ease up on how you ran your mouth about other members. But, again, you're either slow or a slow learner and just weren't processing the message, so I had to use language and wording in that final PM so that you'd understand. I find it oh so ironic how you were constantly on people about how they should be tracking their cars, then you never even showed at RTTC. You had some excuse about having a headache. I have to wonder if you even understand the irony of that. For months you rode members about tracking their car, the reasoning for their personal choice, and after all that, you didn't show up. All the drama you created in this community for nothing. Quote:
You're either SLOW or a SLOW LEARNER, which is it? And since I had to defend myself for defending the community, this one is done. |
