I am in LA for the week, I will check the paint code on the Lambo when I get home..

You don't have the 73' Pro Tour anymore. :( I liked that car.

Streetking 09-20-2011 03:32 PM

And it begins....

Finally got started on the '71 Camaro yesterday. I dropped it off yesterday to my fabricator and he has already started taking it apart!

Since my name was thrown in the pot. I figured I would toss out my reason for the big pictures. See were all getting older and our eye's are just not as good as they used to be. So really who want's to look at little thumbnail pictures. Bigger is better you can actually see detail and you can feel part of the build.

Just think of it this way - would you buy a Magazine if it was 1/2 the size. I doubt it.

on a Side note: I am really excited to watch this build.

ParkerRS 09-21-2011 07:09 AM

Can't wait to see this project done. SW you have great taste and it looks like a very clean car to start on. The rusty areas in the floor are a common thing on most of the second gens, but no biggie to repair right.

Full DSE suspension and judging by the dry sump oil tank on the shelf an LS7 or derivitive there of. Should be a hoot to drive.

GregWeld 09-21-2011 10:58 AM

Pretty sure we had a whole conversation about not wanting to have to tear a car apart and do a complete build....

Guess I heard wrong! :willy: :willy:

So far it looks like you started with a very very nice car at least!

jy211 09-21-2011 11:13 AM

since your changing the whole car up, eliminate the rear spoiler

tones2SS 09-21-2011 05:05 PM

I'll be following this build. Should be a killer car when complete.

It certainly looks like you need hearing aids!!

will be another winner

Streetking 09-24-2011 02:08 PM

HotRod68Camaro, I'm using a guy I came across a few weeks ago. He is a one man shop/fabricator and his skills are un real. Another friend of mine named Richard Wood is going to do the paint/body work.

This guy does not mess around, he is getting it done. I will give you guys his contact info soon, I just want to get my car done. He is a person that loves what he does, good at it and want's to get things done.

That car is actually nicer than the pics show, I looked at it 2 years ago and seriously thought about buying it. I purchased a car from the previous owner and he's a great guy.
