I missed that view of the car. You are supposed to look at the Chevelle, not everything else around it!:unibrow: The latest pics are cropped nicely and shot from the other direction for ya!

We were kind of amazed at the fenders and quarters after the car was stripped. We could see that it had something done to the lower quarters and they were re-painted from the center of the car down. It was somewhat confusing because the rockers and floors were absolutely flawless. it must have just been water thrown off the tires that collected around the wheel openings and rusted those areas away.

More progress on the rear bumper and exhaust tip. The shape was determined and then cut into the bumper for the center exhaust tip. We then began fabricating the tip itself.

Still a lot of work to be done. This is just the outside frame of the exhaust tip.

Tip set in the bumper. it is just balancing in the opening for the picture. final positioning and mounting still needs to take place

Sorry Vince, but the customer does not want it shown until it is completed. I didn't realize it was in the background... sorry for the accidental teaser shots!

No real updates on this build. It is in primer about ready for final blocking and then paint. The owner decided to put some money elsewhere at his wife's request.... into our C10 pick up! Both him and his wife have beeen talking about our C10 since we re-introduced it with the orange and white paint scheme. We took 2 months off on the chevelle and he purchased our C10. We have been doing some de-tuning on the truck to make it back into a street friendly cruiser. We swapped motors to a 535 HP LS3 and removed a lot of the race car parts like the dry sump, coolers, remote reservoir coilovers, etc... to give it better street manners. We are just about finished with the changes and should be shipping the truck out to Denver before the first of the year.

His plans are to get back on the Chevelle by mid 1st quarter 2013 and then have it completed for the summer.

That's pretty cool. My wife's the same way. She pretty much leaves me alone about my projects and doesn't bother me. All she says is, "As long as nothing around the house gets cut off (utilities) or gets repo'd, I don't care."

Time for an update on the 70 Chevelle since it has been quite a while since the last update. We started back on the car around the middle of the summer finishing up a lot of the small fab work and getting it ready for body & paint. We had to put it on hold for a short time while we got 3 other builds painted and ready for SEMA. Once they were through the paint shop, we were able to get back into this project and hit the ground running. All of the body work and prep work was completed and it was readied for color. After some quick decision making, the owner and us both chose the same color to paint the car. That was probably the first time that has ever happened on the first shot! Color is always the hardest part of the build, but we were both on the exact same page this time. He was looking for a dark charcoal that still had some life to it. We sprayed out a few different test samples and all of us landed on a 2013 Audi color.

Enough talking... here are some shots of the paint.

http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps40ad2ded.jpg

It is a cool color that looks dark, almost black at some angles.

A close up to show some of the metalics in the paint that elegantly pop in the light.

We have some unique graphics that will be going on next to give the car some further detail. We have been playing with some tone on tone matte finishes with a small pop of bright color.

214Chevy 11-26-2013 05:28 PM

I love that color....dark charcoal.

I agree, so dark but still has nice depth and sparkle to it. Not to much, just enough!

Rick D 11-27-2013 05:57 AM

Looks great!! Can't wait to see the rest come together!

jarhead 11-27-2013 04:23 PM

I have to wonder what the exhaust note sounds like?

It is going to be a Denver car? Hope so
