That is a fantastic build. I had a chance to buy a 2nd Gen Trans Am my freshman year in college, but didn't have the money and have regret it since, love those cars.

Looks Killer Paul, I will see this thing out on the street in person in about a week or so. Guys this car needs to be seen to be appreciated.

transam 08-09-2012 04:38 PM

Thanks ryan! Radical dropped the car off this morning, revving over 2000:D , turns out one of the caps on the delphi wiring came off which has an important ground on it.

ucf10dk 08-12-2012 04:56 PM

outstanding build man, a major inspiration for my upcoming build.

Rybar 08-21-2012 03:49 PM

PonchoJohn 08-27-2012 11:53 AM

Wow! That's a nice looking 'Bird!

Macbuick 08-27-2012 02:02 PM

Very nice car !!
But I find that the wheels are too deep inside the wheelarches....they should move out to be more agressive.....:unibrow:

transam 08-27-2012 06:15 PM

You know whats funny,i feel the same way. I dont mind the front but i want to space out the rears. It was set up this way to avoid rubbing issues if i drove the car hard in corners but the suspensions pretty stiff so i might space the rears out a half inch or more

tazzz2_ca 08-27-2012 07:36 PM

The car is stunning and subject to how the suspension has been set I'd agree you can come out further....

If the rear wheel lips (and out wheel well) have been clearances you shouldn't have an issue... I run my set up further out,,, and up front we do the same thing with clearance work tot he fenders and I'm running a 295 with ""lots of room"" for more tire. I hope to be at SEMA with a little surprise 73TA that will be running (at least on the track) a set of 335's on a DSE sub-frame that has had a couple of minor alterations for clearance.

Just pure sex!!!

WSSix 09-04-2012 11:38 PM

I didn't want to say anything simply because we all know about opinions but moving the rims out will greatly improve the looks. Even if you have to raise the car a touch, I would move the rims out a bit. Muffin top is not a good look, lol. Great car regardless though.

transam 09-05-2012 12:58 AM

I hear you, the cars butt ugly from straight behind view .

transam 06-09-2013 06:09 PM

Some updates. The car would not rev over 2000. After getting nowhere with turnkey,i will never buy from them or recomend them to anyone, i decided to ditch the mefi set up. After a lot of pondering and tons of help from mike norris i ended up getting the holley hp efi. Thanks to mike and the members here who steered me his way:thumbsup: . But thats where the fun starts. Although the wiring in my car under the hood and trunk are all done properly ,braided sleeves/heatshrink ,routed nearly perfect i was amazed to find this mess under the dash and console. Numerous butt connectors, some runs would have 4/5 butt connectors in a row. I cant stand clutter so i am redoing the whole mess. S far cutting out the junk and making a chart of what wires going where, started putting it back together today. I was debating to post the pictures or not, because i didnt want people to think the whole cars crap but its actually funny how bad the wiring was done. I have extreme ocd with wiring so it might take me a few weekends but ill post the after pics soon.
Enjoy the fail!

Glad you're getting it sorted out  Good luck getting it all done in time to cruise this year.

canrc 06-09-2013 08:31 PM

Good on ya Paul! I did the same -- hated those butt connectors replaced everything with unshielded connectors and heat shrink.

transam 06-09-2013 08:36 PM

You got butt connectors from them too? Now i dont feel so special. :lmao:

Haha! They only did a "get it started" wiring job just to get the car running and yep butt connectors! But Alex made sure there were none in the final job.

Ron in SoCal 06-09-2013 10:30 PM

What's with all this butt connectors you guys? :D

transam 06-09-2013 11:31 PM

Yeah he wired the visible stuff hence the perfection. And then he left and 4 random guys went to work. Im saving all the splices and electrical tape and dropping them off to the shop once im all done.

Hardluck13 06-10-2013 11:16 PM

You nailed it with the stance but agree with you about the back spacing. I thought I saw AC controls and no vents. Are they hidden or am I blind? Also I look at the front and keep wondering how it would look if the honeycomb went all the way to the end over the headlights like a phantom. Badass freaking ride man

transam 06-10-2013 11:38 PM

Thanks! The vents are there. Each side of the guage pod and defroster ones on the top side. They are powdercoated black and have honeycomb designs on the inside. I played with spacing the rears out but its going to need to be raised. In hindsight i should have had the rear quarter fender lips cut and welded so i could keep it low and space the wheels out that or raise it up more

Rybar 09-03-2013 03:19 PM

updates? ;)

jonna 09-04-2013 07:20 PM

Beautiful TA! We are working on a second gen and love the ideas! What did you use for headlights, really like it!

transam 09-04-2013 11:22 PM

Thanks! They are just late 80s early 90s chevy truck lights. These are some random afttermarket ones. But theres nice stock appearing but glass units out there.

Rybar 01-25-2015 11:40 AM

Hangover time is a perfect time to post some updates Paul. ;)

transam 11-28-2015 08:20 PM

Finally back on the roads after two years, new mods are ikey keyless entry with proximity sensor, holley hp efi, new upper rad hose, tuning by Kal Hartline and lots of small issues resolved.

Great looking car. How does the ikey system work? Are you happy with it?

transam 11-28-2015 11:30 PM

It uses a credit card sized keyfob with rfid technology. It has a proximity sensor so whenever you approach the car it unlocks. And once inside you can select acc or ignition on the push start button. A nice feature is you can select a few oem buttons ie a Nissan gtr,s2000, Lexus etc. When you walk away from the car the doors lock and it arms the system. It also comes with two emergency fobs that do not use battery's. You place them over the sensor , usually installed at the base of your windshield, and it unlocks the car and let's you start it. It's a nice system. You can also have a trunk unlock and a remote start option as well.

They are actually having a 50% off Sale this month
