Gaps look good. Repo's take a lot of work to get the gaps like NOS

tubbed69 01-21-2013 04:34 PM

thanks Jay,I really like the car you built for wife and love the Rushforths

tones2SS 01-21-2013 04:55 PM

Nice updates. Good to see you back at it.

frankv11 03-08-2013 10:41 PM

Very nice build, can't believe I had missed it. Are you doing all the work, " great work "

Streetking 03-09-2013 04:11 AM

Great build, can't wait to see it painted!

tubbed69 03-09-2013 04:45 AM

Thanks, gotta get some pics up soon, just cut both quarters and tailpan off to replace with a couple N.O.S. quarters and RS rear body pan, could not get satisfied with the other brand sheet metal, probably just been to picking.

makoshark 03-09-2013 07:25 AM

WOW! That core support and front cap alignment is looking spectacular! I need someone like you over in my garage helping me get my front cap aligned. To the death of me, I sure can't get it right!

Spiffav8 03-09-2013 07:48 AM

Looks awesome. Not sure why but I love this stage of the build.

Keep it up man!

tubbed69 03-09-2013 08:19 AM

Thanks guys body gaps are a hard thing to get right, sure takes a lot of patience. This stage is a lot more fun because once your finished cleaning all of the time kind of sucks.

tubbed69 03-24-2013 06:33 PM

Just picked up a couple of GM quarter panels,I know its alot of money but I will definitely do it again on next car I build after this one.Big difference in fit and gaps without much work,if I was a good welder like alot of fabricators on this site I would have reworked what I had,but unfornutely I am not a great welder and dont have a tig welder.Making progress still waiting for roof skin but got quarters and tail panel on and primed with very little work on gaps, really happy so far.http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psa8707085.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psf1d630cf.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6bd2213e.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...ps056802f1.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...psde244168.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7aa8dae3.jpg

No need to justify to anyone why you spent what you did on your car. We all share in this hobby alike and we all spend lots of money. :G-Dub: There's no difference in spending alot on GM quarters than the next man spending $8k on wheels or $20k on a LS9. It's only worth what you're willing to pay. Great parts by the way.

tones2SS 03-25-2013 05:10 PM

That looks really good. Good job. Working with great products make the job a lot easier.

Thanks guys,I am thankful for aftermarket parts but I just had a few from a bad batch maybe?I am going to buy another set of quarters and fenders to have for later on next car.I did get an aftermarket rear taillight panel that was extremely nice and stamped with very crisp lines and straight as can be.http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5634ccac.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7aa8dae3.jpg

Rybar 03-25-2013 07:17 PM

Looks really good man, I would as much original parts as I could if I were to do it all over again. Pretty much every aftermarket part fit like crap.

Thanks Jeremy went with Hookers in DSE sub with 1.5" setback motor mounts, works great.http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...9/P1000640.jpghttp://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...9/P1000574.jpgthis is on the last car I had I also used the Hookers on stock sub with 1.5" setback motor mounts and they work great and F body oil pan clears.http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...bbed69/030.jpg

randy 05-01-2013 01:11 PM

I used the crossmember from Keisler Engineering, ran the TKO 600 in the last 3 cars I built and bought entire kit from them, very nice product, crossmember is cut out nicely for exhaust.I dont know if this pic will help,if not let me know I can get better pics for you.http://i1192.photobucket.com/albums/...9/P1000639.jpg
