Just as long as you sign up for the driving school you should be fine Mike. There will be plenty of us around to help out but typically you'll want to bring alot of water, sun screen, chap stick, a hat, a chair, etc. Hopefully othrs will chime in with anything I left out.

mdprovee 03-21-2012 07:52 AM

Gaetano,

You can count me in, at least as a spectator, usless I can get some additions to my car to make it legal.

Im in and can bring lots of shade in trade for conopy set up assistance.

Track Junky 03-23-2012 04:00 AM

I wasn't able to get a group discount. NCRC offers a great format at a very reasonable price as it is. If you intend on getting laps timed dont forget to sign up for lap timing. If you dont already have an AMB transponder attached to your car NCRC can rent one to you.
Looking forward to seeing you guy's out there.

Most of us get there between 4 & 6 p.m. on Friday but I know your local so I suspect you wont get there till Saturday morning. Hopefully our pit crew can chime in and volunteer.

What heading should I look for that on my September bill??

ROBS6T8 06-10-2012 08:42 AM

I know it's been a few months for this thread, but I'm in! Pit crew for sure but more likely driver. I missed the last driving school but not this time. Go easy on me.:D

Track Junky 06-10-2012 10:23 AM

Hey Rob, I posted a response to your Buttowillow enquirey on my build thread. Looking forward to seeing you again.....whats it been...2 years? All friendly rivalry with a bunch of good friends so no worries

Gandalf 06-11-2012 09:48 AM

The spirit of the weekend event you guys mention sounds great - even if people are running in different groups. After reading through the different threads on this event, I'm not clear if this is an invite-only but if it's open - put me down. Gregg B.

(Oh - and does signing up for this event get me automatic rights to post in the trash-talk thread? :) )

G.

Flash68 06-11-2012 12:50 PM

Yes and Gregg you are highly encouraged to talk smack in the trash talk thread. :D

GregWeld 06-11-2012 04:40 PM

Has anyone made any hotel reservations for this event yet?? From what I'm hearing they're all terrible dumps --- which isn't exactly thrilling... but where is everyone staying so far?

Flash68 06-11-2012 04:49 PM

Haven't made em yet but I believe Motel 6 Central is the spot?

And yeah they're all dumps if you're used to the Ritz and 4 Seasons!

Vegas69 06-11-2012 04:52 PM

Motel 6 is the place. The bed bugs only nibble.

GregWeld 06-11-2012 04:55 PM

I'll bring a f'n tent....

Where he belongs. I've run into Aaron at two events in the last three weeks and in between he went to race school @ El Toro...

gerno 08-20-2012 11:54 AM

I was curious who is still planning to attend and/or run this event since it's basically a month out. I'm planning to head that way even though I haven't said much on here but I know lots of people have cars down both for good and bad reasons....

I haven't registered for the event through NCRC yet and know it is still very open but I wanted to be sure no one needed help offloading a registration cost they were not able to use.

Steve

GregWeld 08-20-2012 11:56 AM

I'm out because the car is still in the hospital in Sonoma....

Track Junky 08-20-2012 01:36 PM

I'm out also. Had to remodel one of the bathrooms at one of my rentals, built a fence for the other, and am currently doing some major landscaping at my house. Car budget is wiped out for the year. :(

Call the Kern County Coroner this event is in grave condition...:(

Is anyone still going?

GregWeld 08-23-2012 04:11 PM

Vegas car is for sale
Weld car is broken
Gordon car is always broken
Gae is just broke
Ron's car will never break because it's never going to be done
Another guy is out of spray and they won't cert his 20's

Yep --- pretty much going the way of the California Hiway system.... crumbling.

intocarss 08-23-2012 05:31 PM

I'll bring my POS and have the fastest car there WOOOO-WHOOOOOOO :D

gerno 08-23-2012 05:32 PM

Definately sounds pretty dead now. Think I might skip this and focus on more T-Hill runs since the track is close by. I'll save the gas and hotel money to try out the RTTC event in Oct. At least then there is no Motel 6 involved.....

 I can't disagree with that!

Track Junky 08-23-2012 08:58 PM

You guys got it all wrong. The RSVP is for 2013. We still have another year.

Sieg 08-23-2012 09:02 PM

Can't believe the Camaro was thrown under the bus for a bunch of basic beige quarry rock and sand...........Oh the shame.

Now you've probably opened the door for Dave to toss his motor and suspension plans under the same domesticated bus and plant that rose garden he's always dreamed of now that he has dirt of his own.

:beavis:

Vegas69 08-23-2012 09:16 PM

Since I haven't found anybody smart enough to buy my car yet, maybe I should go run me a 2:10. :unibrow:

Vince@Meanstreets 08-23-2012 09:35 PM

2:10's already taken, Im sure if you go quarter tank you can pull a 2:08.

Vegas69 08-23-2012 09:39 PM

Not in CW1.

Yeah, IronWorks doesn't make "Fast" spray anymore, only "Left Turn" spray---plus, I have to spend a grip just to get to a certain moderators wedding and then plunck down another G for my part in the gift. And I have to wear "Cocktail" attire on top of that, which makes me think I am going to have to go shopping---anyone have an example of such attire that they care to post up? This could be good.

What can I say......it needed to be done. 7000 lbs of rock, 3 yards of decomposed granite, and 35 gallons of G3 stabilizer. Not to mention the 20 shrubs and 100's of feet of irrigation I need to put in. And thats just the front of the house  .
