I cannot wait to see how this turns out. If I understand correctly, you have to put a donor VIN on these Dynacorn cars? How does that process work? Moving VIN's around just doesn't sound legit. I'm just trying to understand the process here. Great job on the car BTW!

It comes with a Dynacorn VIN pop riveted on the right fender apron and also under the right sill plate and he will be using that.

I bought mine at Eastwood they seemed at the time to have the best price but it is made by Auto Twirler for a Mustang.

PASD U 06-02-2013 02:27 PM

Can't wait to see what you guys do with it.

GPR 09-01-2013 04:32 PM

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps888896eb.jpg

Couple coats of SPI epoxy

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps24681ce5.jpg

We have done a lot more than make the body ready for paint, A few custom items and added suspension to name a couple. At this time we have around 600 hours in it.

streetbird 09-02-2013 03:15 PM

will be a nice 100% new car

GPR 12-20-2013 11:20 AM

I have had questions wanting to know what issue this would be in and I'm happy to say it's in the March issue that just went to the printers.

This is what Brian has been fabricating. It is an under the dash hood release. The hood required a lot of fabrication along with this latch that came off of another Ford. To find out all the details you will have to read the build story in an upcoming issue of Modified Mustangs & Fords magazine.

GPR 12-21-2013 04:05 PM

The engine came in a couple of weeks ago

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps0795eb41.jpg

We had to change the motor mounts to Ron Morris adjustable to clear the hood.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps0a6b6842.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps3a3f87a6.jpg

It runs on pump gas and makes 502HP @5900 and 533 ftlbs torque @3600. Click to see the video.

We do! You can get one through Rusty. For more details check out this link: http://www.totalcontrolproducts.com/rack.html and be sure to check out the 'Downloads' section too.

GPR 02-01-2014 02:43 PM

The owner wanted the car assembled so the stainless exhaust could be designed to fit around the Total Control Products rear suspension and subframe connectors in case anything had to be modified before paint.

On the way to the exhaust shop on a dreary rainy day here in Florida

Chassisworks 07-02-2015 05:56 PM

Lookin' good, Rusty!

GPR 07-08-2015 05:06 PM

A few new problems. Brian is test fitting the windshield molding and of course they don't fit.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pszzzlhqvo.jpg

The next problem is the brackets for the fold down rear seat are welded in the wrong location on the wheelhouse

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psagjmojkq.jpg

This is how it should be mounted

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pscxao5vfq.jpg

It is mounted to high

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psgwma6luo.jpg

This is the opposite side

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psajtajlzc.jpg

GPR 07-19-2015 12:06 PM

Brian had to cut and modify the windshield pillar to get the molding to fit

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps2from18w.jpg

He finished welding

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pswqf0edst.jpg

Welds ground

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psplslcbvt.jpg

Brushed a little epoxy to keep if from getting any surface rust

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pst0poeuvi.jpg

GPR 07-31-2015 03:36 PM

After a lot of test fitting the seat brackets are welded in place

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psfkevnkpv.jpg

The fold down rear seat must have been in and out of there at least 6 times but it now fits and goes down without hitting the interior trim panels

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psebz9b7qi.jpg

The suspension was removed so the body can go on the rotisserie to finish the undercarriage.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...ps7iybqt16.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psno6p3p3a.jpg

Brian applying seam sealer under the cowl.

jarhead 07-31-2015 08:14 PM

nice Mustang build

GPR 09-07-2015 12:17 PM

The undercarriage and engine compartment was sanded and seam sealed.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pshsyzioom.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psuzxvtknd.jpg

Two coats of SPI black epoxy

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psldondguu.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psofcap6hx.jpg

GPR 09-23-2015 09:15 AM

Brian taped the body so we can epoxy prime the interior, inside the trunk and undercarriage.
We need to scuff the undercarriage first before the epoxy. After the epoxy the next step will be to spray the Lizard Skin.

I always like this stage of a project... it kind of indicates you're only a few steps away from putting things back together.

Not sure what these bodies cost -- but 600 hours of prep / repair -- to make the body perfect seems like a pretty decent deal to me.

At least you know what you're getting! How many people have bought complete - nice looking cars and then found a nightmare under the shiny paint...
