Hood is on, front and rear spoiler is on. I had to do a mock up at this point and just put a couple bolts in here and there.
If was a good feeling to see all my ideas coming together right in front of me. The car looked big and long sitting inside the shop. Funny thing is, as soon as i pushed it outside and it was near other vehicles it looked small. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-38-11_656.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-32-28_827.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-32-47_621.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t.../side-shot.jpg Almost time for BODY WORK!!! wooo hoooo!!!! |

Just wondering... can you flip the top of the spoiler 180 degrees? Thinking it might flow better with the lines of the car?
My Dad was a Mopar guy, so I know it's a Mopar piece but it just doesn't work for me as is... maybe if it mirrored the shape of the rear signal opening or line up with that rear quarter seam? Just throwing it out there for thought and conversation... love everything else you're doing with the car ... honestly, as far as the spoiler goes, it's not my car and I'm a Pontiac guy so what do I know! Subscribed! |
It can't be flip flopped based on how the legs mount to the spoiler.

Nice job the hood looks great.

Thanks yours is looking good. Whats your projected finish date
heres a sneak at what im cooking up this time i will see this one thru to the end 69 dodge daytona pro touring |
No projected finish date. It gets done when it gets done. Hopefully sooner then later.
|
Some interesting mods for sure. Makes me miss my 70 Dart. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Awesome. I love how there is just a touch of headers peeking down under.

Great Mopar build. I'm definitely watching this one, some cool stuff you're doing.
I read where you talked about maybe having to massage the passenger seat a bit. I've got Scat seats with Scat brackets in my Camaro and I cut two notches of the ears on the brackets off so that there was only one notch left for the bolt. I called the company before I did any cutting and they said it would not affect the integrity of the remaining ear/bracket. I did it so I could get my seats as close to the floor as possible. |
I really need to take out the good camera more often.
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...aint-booth.jpg Back onto the lift to get the rear anti sway bar installed and finish welding up the stuff on the under side of the car. Then it will go back on the rotisserie for the final body work and paint. The cell phone is just so much handier for taking pictures. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-01-08_175.jpg |
I like it. Nice work on the hood BTW.

Nice color

Someday I'll upgrade, probably right after this money pit is on the road. |
Great build. You don't see many pro-touring Darts out there.

Yeah, I missed the typing between the pictures that explains it is primer. Here I was thinking it was a light gray instead of silver. With the right accents and accessories, I think a gray would look good |

Seam sealed and ready to have the bottom shot black.

Now that the bottom is shot I need to get the K member and everything else painted so she can be put back on her feet and the rest of the body work done.

Which one is the Viper Very Orange Pearl and which one is the Arancio Argos?
The short stick is the VVOP. The VVOP looks damn near the same except basecoat/clear and is less expensive. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/_MG_3921.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/_MG_3915.jpg |
Both colors look great! If cost is a factor, the VVOP would get my nod for looking fantastic and being less expensive. But I'm cheap like that.

Final block sanding, almost ready for sealer and paint.

Jason seam sealing the drip rails.
http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/_MG_4137.jpg The auto timer on the camera busted my attempt at a covert pic. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/_MG_4157.jpg Blowing out my arch nemesis! http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...t/_MG_4160.jpg |
These pictures, like in all other pictures of wild colors, don't do it justice.
I'm really happy with the color choice. Final block sanded, scuffed, taped and tech cleaned. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...edforpaint.jpg Primer sealed http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...imerSealed.jpg Paint http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...angePearl2.jpg Cleared http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...dandBright.jpg |
the color looks pretty damn good in the pictures, would love to see it in person.

That was a good color choice. Coming along nicely.

The paint looks great, nice job.

I keep focus on this Dart I really like this project.
I have just sold my 68 Mustang and got a chance to buy a 71 Dart. I have never had any Mopar maybe it's time to get one. The front suspension looks pretty nice. How about the rear? Is there any existing coil over suspension on the market? |
RMS makes a 4 link for the rear which is a pretty nice setup. Most people just make their own though.

Windshield is in and to me it made the car come together more.
I have A LOT of stuff to do yet. Trim pieces need to be painted, hood latch and grill need to be painted and put on... the list goes on and on. I'll be buying little stuff like weather stripping, sound deadening, interior stuff as time goes on. Maybe I'll be able to roll it outside this winter and get some pictures, but I'm guessing it might not be until summer. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps762fb962.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps95e80de3.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps5846a6a0.jpg Almost looks factory. http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...psfe20b0e2.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps8aeafb6e.jpg http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...psf00eceb4.jpg |
