Hood is on, front and rear spoiler is on. I had to do a mock up at this point and just put a couple bolts in here and there.
If was a good feeling to see all my ideas coming together right in front of me.
The car looked big and long sitting inside the shop. Funny thing is, as soon as i pushed it outside and it was near other vehicles it looked small.

Just wondering... can you flip the top of the spoiler 180 degrees? Thinking it might flow better with the lines of the car?

My Dad was a Mopar guy, so I know it's a Mopar piece but it just doesn't work for me as is... maybe if it mirrored the shape of the rear signal opening or line up with that rear quarter seam?

Just throwing it out there for thought and conversation... love everything else you're doing with the car ... honestly, as far as the spoiler goes, it's not my car and I'm a Pontiac guy so what do I know!

Subscribed!

-Freak- 07-27-2012 07:25 AM

It can't be flip flopped based on how the legs mount to the spoiler.

waynieZ 07-27-2012 08:13 AM

Nice job the hood looks great.

No projected finish date. It gets done when it gets done. Hopefully sooner then later.

DTM Racing 07-28-2012 09:31 PM

Some interesting mods for sure. Makes me miss my 70 Dart. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Great Mopar build. I'm definitely watching this one, some cool stuff you're doing.
I read where you talked about maybe having to massage the passenger seat a bit. I've got Scat seats with Scat brackets in my Camaro and I cut two notches of the ears on the brackets off so that there was only one notch left for the bolt. I called the company before I did any cutting and they said it would not affect the integrity of the remaining ear/bracket. I did it so I could get my seats as close to the floor as possible.

-Freak- 09-12-2012 08:52 PM

I really need to take out the good camera more often.

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...aint-booth.jpg

Back onto the lift to get the rear anti sway bar installed and finish welding up the stuff on the under side of the car.
Then it will go back on the rotisserie for the final body work and paint.

The cell phone is just so much handier for taking pictures.

A Canon XTI that i've had for years.
Someday I'll upgrade, probably right after this money pit is on the road.

tones2SS 09-13-2012 04:56 PM

Great build. You don't see many pro-touring Darts out there.

Well then, that's a freaking awesome camera!

Yeah, I missed the typing between the pictures that explains it is primer. Here I was thinking it was a light gray instead of silver. With the right accents and accessories, I think a gray would look good

Here's a Scion color that could easily be confused for clear coated primer, I actually considered it for my build ....the official name is Cement

-Freak- 09-14-2012 10:26 AM

I'm never 100% certain on a color until its on the car. :D

WSSix 09-14-2012 01:31 PM

Cement is a good name for that color:D

Tincup 09-14-2012 05:21 PM

Nice to see the progress, keep it up....

-Freak- 10-22-2012 04:04 AM

Seam sealed and ready to have the bottom shot black.

http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...-29-26_311.jpg

-Freak- 10-22-2012 04:05 AM

Now that the bottom is shot I need to get the K member and everything else painted so she can be put back on her feet and the rest of the body work done.

Which one is the Viper Very Orange Pearl and which one is the Arancio Argos?

The short stick is the VVOP. The VVOP looks damn near the same except basecoat/clear and is less expensive.

WSSix 10-22-2012 07:23 AM

Both colors look great! If cost is a factor, the VVOP would get my nod for looking fantastic and being less expensive. But I'm cheap like that.

These pictures, like in all other pictures of wild colors, don't do it justice.

I'm really happy with the color choice.

Final block sanded, scuffed, taped and tech cleaned.

The paint looks great, nice job.

medbali76 01-04-2013 08:53 AM

I keep focus on this Dart I really like this project.
I have just sold my 68 Mustang and got a chance to buy a 71 Dart.
I have never had any Mopar maybe it's time to get one.
The front suspension looks pretty nice.
How about the rear? Is there any existing coil over suspension on the market?

-Freak- 01-04-2013 09:10 AM

RMS makes a 4 link for the rear which is a pretty nice setup. Most people just make their own though.

-Freak- 01-04-2013 09:13 AM

Windshield is in and to me it made the car come together more.
I have A LOT of stuff to do yet. Trim pieces need to be painted, hood latch and grill need to be painted and put on... the list goes on and on.

I'll be buying little stuff like weather stripping, sound deadening, interior stuff as time goes on.

Maybe I'll be able to roll it outside this winter and get some pictures, but I'm guessing it might not be until summer.
