I have one of the earliest (pre-Wayne Due) clips out there and it is impressive to see how far the design has come in the last seven or eight years. For example, it looks like Wayne Due saved some weight in the frame horn area (where the bumper mounts) and the main crossmember looks reinforced. Looks like it accepts taller shocks, too. I could keep going on.
Now if only one of these clip manufacturers would add a front jacking point forward of the main crossmember. I absolutely hate jacking up the front of my car--especially with the front spoiler. And I already have a low profile jack. The old 2x4 trick is okay, but not if the car is disabled or disassembled. Hey Scott, Just for the hell of it, measure the witdh to the outside of the main (forward) frame rails. My old clip measures 37.25" wide. |

Sorry Steve, I read too much into your question. lol The answer you're looking for is 30 7/8".
|
Scott thanks for all the pics! Will the DSE sway bar not fit?
|
I can't believe I missed this post. That thing is a work of art. The welds are awesome. I don't know what else to say. :willy:
|
VERY NICE, man I want one!!! You don't know how badly I want to spend my paint budget on this!!!
How does the geometry compare to the DSE c/o conversion? |
Anthony, it's the same geometry.
|
Awesome buddy, just.....awesome! :hail:
:captain: |
I Hate You!!!
But I love you man! That is the most beautiful clip I have seen. I just got done talking to wayne about doing a full frame for me and after seeing that it pretty much has made my mind up as to who will be doing it. DAMMNNN!!!!! :hail:

I'll post more pictures once the spindles arrive. |
This thing is really impressive!
Scott, I thought you already bought a WD-subframe with AME from suspension on it. Or maybe I'm thinking of someone else. :_paranoid |

Awsome craftmanship!! Welding etc . Looks really sharp.
What are the other benefits compared to stock frame with similar components(DSE,rack, brakes) ? |
Scott, you're being bombarded with questions but I have to throw one more at you. Is this frame the "stock replacement" frame that Wayne Due was talking about a few months back or is it something else? I talked to Wayne about a month ago about the stock replacement and I thought he told me that the stock steering box would work on it. I don't see the holes for the stock box on your frame. Was yours customized for the rack or is the stock steering not an option on this frame?
Thanks. Looks awesome by the way. |
awesome, Scott, now how bout some more pics? been days!
|
LOL, Jim, you know me too well. I'll have some new pics early next week when the ATS AFX spindles arrive.
Tony, I believe this is the same frame you're thinking of. I'm not sure where the development with the ATS box is. That would be something to talk to Wayne about. :) |
So how soon before it's mocked up on the car? Is it done yet? How about now? Now? Lazy ass...... :P

I've spoken with Wayne about possibly letting us (ATS) offer a bone stock type replacement frame that would use the factory style (or our new 670) steering box, sway bar, upper and lower control arms (with factory UCA pickup points to make use of our tall AFX spindle), and crossmember. I know that the frame is much more labor intensive to make due to the odd angles that the parts mount at, but I feel it will be a largely popular item, and to those who want that updated look, well worth the price..

Awesome!
Very nice Scott. I'm jealous :D. All that work I did on a stock sub with DSE coilover conversion.....arrghhh. I think Wayne has got a great idea here. Just think...bigger front tires...easy to switch out different size sway bars......no HEADER issues
|
What is the final wheel specs that can be run on the front with this frame? is. width & backspace? Tire size? Are you or can you have inner fenders? If not, what is the biggest size of wheel/tire you can run with inner fenders?

I'll save you and Wayne some e-mails. Here is the response I recieved from him today.
Jeff, I'm not sure when it will be ready. I'm still kinda tooling up to build them. The price will be the same as the C-4 and C-5 bare steel frames. Thanks Wayne 360-657-4810 |

That is freaking eye candy! |

Not really crappy if you already have the upper and lower A arms and coil over shocks from DSE.
