Any updates on this build?
|
Car sold unfinished. Please think twice about buying a Dynacorn body nothing lines up. After buying several sets of fenders and looking at what all the small parts were going to cost it was best to move on. I am in the process of building a "real" Camaro now. I will start a new build thread on the current car.

Have you found another candidate yet ? |
Yep! I'm doing a 68 Camaro. I started a new build thread under "Real Steel". My real love is for 69s but the 68 has a ton a memory's. I traded the 69 I was building for this car.

Wow!!! what a small world, just seen your old car over at Classic Car Fusion, I am meeting up with Rob and Todd about finishing up the 69 Build, man your not kidding about the fit on the aftermarket Dynacorn parts I have had to modify ever part I have ever bought from them for my other cars. Can't wait to see your next build.

Thanks Marty! There is nothing like driving a 427 bb with a m21 and 3.73s lots of tire smoke! Lol

I love seeing the less popular big blocks like 396/402 and 427s being used. 427s get my attention way more than a 454 or bigger. I'd really love to build a 427 with EFI and cruise it in a C3 vette one day. No idea why other than it just sounds right rolling off the tongue. The 409s are fun as well. I'm fortunate that the local car show once a month usually has a Impala SS show up with a built 409 in it. Car sounds soooooo good.
Have fun with it, Rob! |

I'm with ya on the 427's ton of power and rev to the moon if built right. Same reason people love 302 and 327's! I have an original 62 date code 409/409hp. I need to find an impala to put this in! we found it in the father n laws shop after he passed.:( He knew the wife and I are car nuts and told us that "you need to look in the back of the shop their is a few things you might want" I found this 409 and 2ea. m21's!!!!http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j2...psb0pxnbdb.jpg |
Nice. The 409 would look good in just about anything in my opinion.

You could always buy this car and have it as a back up motor. http://garagescene.net/gallery3/var/...0Air%20_1_.jpg http://garagescene.net/gallery3/var/...0Air%20_4_.jpg http://garagescene.net/gallery3/var/...0Air%20_8_.jpg http://garagescene.net/gallery3/var/...Air%20_10_.jpg |
There might be someone looking for that original 409 (if it is actually a 409/409) for their car -- matching numbers sort of thing ya know.... and would be willing to pay a nice premium for it.
I think before I just "stuck it in" something -- I'd put an ad in Hemmings and maybe on some of the Chevy forums that would cater to that "era"... and see if you could find a buyer. |
