Bitchen Camaro

I had a "Bitchen 74 Camaro" Graduated in 87.. it might not have been much but it gave me the fever..

Roberts68 02-09-2013 08:25 AM

Silver/black '82 Nissan 280zx 2+2 ,5-speed, posi, factory blaupunckt audio
Two tone brown 80 Honda cm400 "custom"... same bike was offered as an automatic that year. I am pretty sure a Honda Hurricane lifted it's leg on my wussy little bike regularly but I have no proof.:warning: It was literally a hand-me-down from my Mom. I was still pretty cool on the open road though.

The year was 1989. I did not get my '68 until June 24th of that year and still have it.

1982 RX-7 and a 1985 Honda VF500 Interceptor. Both really shaped how I view performance and my expectations

Sieg 02-09-2013 09:23 AM

I pretty much have you all smoked - '74 Datsun long bed pickup. At least it was red. :sieg:

Replaced it with a '66 GTO when I graduated in '76.......slight improvement but the truck was definitely a better dirt bike hauler. :D

The same POS I waste money on now a days. There was enough NOS in that engine to put a small rocket into orbit. I think that was the cars 5th engine, my 2nd, and at least the 4th trans.

69x22 02-09-2013 03:35 PM

1972 Nova 350 with a 2 barrel.

Tomswheels 02-09-2013 05:36 PM

48HP VW Rabbit diesel. I'm not kidding 48HP. Old ladies in American V8 s would beast me from stoplights when they were half throttle. :bang:

I proceeded to abuse here for 2 years. until she left me. :bang:

Class of "73" Voted most likely to abuse a motor vehicle!
I still have the bill of sale for the Z/28

I have a 67 ss chevell, I am always jealous of the guys that actually lived those muscle car years, I was born 72,

DaleTx 02-09-2013 08:52 PM

My first ride was a 1962 Ford Van with a 289 engine… and 3 speed column shift. I primmered it, added some nice seats, and a new stereo system. I remember cruising around listening to Ted Nugent “Cat Scratch Fever”, Foghat “Slow Ride” and stuff like that… good music and fun times in the 70’s :D (class of '77).

I bought my 69 Camaro when I was 21 for $2,200 and I’ve had it ever since. Now I just spent twice that to upgrade the trans, Lol.

I had my 69 camaro that is currently being built. Got it when I was 13 (on my birthday). Was primer gray and 307 3spd manual car. Ended up getting it painted and swapped in a 355 / ST-10 4 speed. Ran ok, but nothing like it will be :)

1953 Packard Clipper, straight 8, around 289 CI I think. We could fit 4 people in the trunk for the drive-in movies.

HIFLYR 02-11-2013 05:41 PM

First car at 14 yrs old 69 Firebird Conv that I have disassembled had dipped and E coated getting her ready for a LS, 6 speed and complete ridetech suspension.

When I was 16 and working at the local HD shop after school bought a 1977 HD Superglide but unfortunately sold it.

Kenny 02-12-2013 06:35 AM

I had 2 modes of transportation as well..... a yellow International with black stripes and Reebok.

It's funny how getting caught at 14 yrs old riding a Yamaha YZ 125 on public roads makes a Judge feel that you should wait until you are 18 before you get to drive legally. It seems the evasion part is what put it over the top.....and the weed.....and the property destruction......the spitting......biting....:bitchslap:

Then my Dad sold my Vega project to make a payment on the fines. He probably did me a favor. I swear when sitting in that car with my hooligan friends, partaking in the hemp and some stolen alcoholic beverages, you could hear it rusting.

Here was the first paint job I did on the current car I have now in 1983!

In collage I changed it to this, which is still on the car now!
http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/f...ng/null-16.jpg
I also had this to run around with in the summer

In collage, I restored this to pay for my tuition

When I turned 16 my dad helped me buy a 1973 Vega that was in 1981

Originally baby blue, after an incident in the snow it needed new paint, midnight blue metallic I guess acrylic single stage no clear coat back then. Painted at a friends shop in his backyard.

When I turned 16 my parent handed me the keys to my moms old car, a 67 Camaro. They had purchased it new in 67. I drove the car all thru high school, and JC. Still drive it today, 30 years later.

jay web 02-14-2013 01:07 PM

Started off with an 81 chevrolet custom deluxe pickup which I still have. then an 82 cutlass supreme and a 69 camaro.

Sparks67 02-14-2013 05:33 PM

I drove a 1975 Chevy Nova 350 2 barrel. Actually, was supposed to get the 75 Nova for High school graduation. Well, until I saw the magazine on 67 - 69 Camaros.. I searched all summer in 1983, and found my 67 RS Camaro in a barn. Which is my current build now!

First Car

1953 MG-TD Mk II Pulled it out of a snow bank and towed it home. It had a Ford V8-60 flatty swapped in. I installed a Peugot 403 motor and 4-speed.

jeff s 02-15-2013 05:30 AM

I was working on my 1949 chevy pick-up project,
I drove my moms 1973 Pontiac Grand Prix with a 455, it was pretty cool with it's bucket seats and console.

E.rodz 02-15-2013 12:05 PM

Great thread first car at 15 was a 1970 camaro rs bought with a locked up motor and a smashed front fender second car was a 1957 gmc pickup next was a 1968 dodge charger with a tunnel ram and two fours this proved to be a not so good choice reckless driving, unnessasary excellaration like there is such a thing?and lots more tickets, then 74 blazer,73 camaro,67 chevelle,77 amc hornet wagon,2 chevettes, and a 73 chevelle. so looking at that now I can see maybe my car addiction was worse than I thought.LOL. all these were in high school.never had a garage to work on any of them just outside in a gravel driveway.

DETON8R 02-15-2013 08:36 PM

Before I got my license my grandparents gave me a 1976 Mazda Cosmo.
http://www.mazdacosmo.com/photo-gallery/
13B rotary (the big rotary) with a 4 barrel carb and automatic. The apex seals in the rotor tips stuck, no compression, and I had to replace the engine before I ever got to drive it. Those rotary engines were so weird. All my buddies couldn't believe it had a tach that went up to 10,000 RPM from the factory.

When I sold that, I bought a 1967 Camaro, hugger orange/white rally stripes on a cowl induction hood, 327, Carter AFB, M20 Muncie and 3.73 Posi. Drove that thru graduation, High School and 4-1/4 years of college. While I was in college the 327 was swapped with a BBC 408 (.060 over 396). Wheel hop with that BBC was wicked, even with slapper bars that thing pounded the rear end. :burnout:

When one of those two cars were dead, I drove a white, 3/4-ton 1969 GMC long bed camper special, 350, 4 barrel and a turbo 400.

Replaced or rebuilt every engine in those before I graduated college.

Al Moreno 02-15-2013 11:29 PM

^ that's hilarious Mario!

I had a Mazda RX2. Used to womp on my buddy's SBCs believe it or not. That thing would burn rubber in every gear. The motor lasted 18 months. In 12th grade I bought my sister a Vega and traded her straight up for her 70 Camaro. Put a built 350, mags and exhaust in it and that was what started it all for me.

Edit: I had a member's only jacket too! :D

Shared a White 75 L82 auto Corvette with my older brother when I first got a license and finished high school with my own 78 Silver Anniversary Corvette..

Back then we (as a family) had a sweet deal going with a car dealer my dad helped out and the whole family pretty much drove new cars for about 10 months,, flipped through a few courtesy cars,, and then got some of the very early release cars the following year as he was a big dealer up here in Ontario at the time.... We even made money driving them if you can imagine.... It was my job to sell off all the cars every year and the money just kept rolling over into new ones basically as the upside sale price covered the new order price generally...
